You shouldn't get a BOV for this car, you should get a BPV because of the location of the MAP sensor on this car. It'll cause the car to run very rich when the valve vents to atmosphere. You're basically venting air that the ECU is counting on to be there and it can be harmful over time. The Forge BPV is very good and it's about half the price of other BPVs. The one Ken linked was the BOV (since you said BOV). BPV is definately the way to go with this car and Forge makes a good one. Take a look at some of the threads about the forge and see how it sounds before purchasing it though, it has a distinct sound and you either like it or don't.

Here's a link to it on Protege Garage: http://mazda3online.web.aplus.net/product_info.php?cPath=281_22_160_250&products_id=1075

Thanks fellas
forge bpv it is which spring should i use

A lot of people use the blue spring. Technically we should be using the yellow spring at stock boost levels but the blue spring just feels much better. I don't know if you checked out the other threads to listen to it's sound but I would if I were you before getting it. Personally I love the sound but some people just flat out hate it because it doesn't really sound like the more popular valves.
