help with prosport gauge settings

I have the prosport premium boost gauge (the one with peak and warning). It says it can switch between beep, light, or beep + light for warning, but the instruction does not include any instructions to set it. Anyone have any idea how this is done?

I believe by saying light they means if you have the face in white it will switch to red at the peak you define at the time. The dirrections tell you how to disable the tone. The flashing blue led for the recall would be sweet to have as a warning, but don't think that the gauge can do that. That's just what I have found. And when your peak button rattles put a tiny o-ring around it to make it quiet again.

I have the light set to amber day and night to match the car's gauges, and when the warning goes off, it cycles between amber and red. This sucks because I don't even notice it go off unless I stare at the gauge. I guess too bad the peak light doesn't flash because it sure is much easier to notice.

Also, the warning tone is WAY too loud that I feel like I'm going deaf whenever I turn on the car, but doing so also turns off the tone when the warning goes off. That's why I want to know if I can have the tone ONLY when the warning goes off but not when I turn on the gauges.

Since there's already a thread on the ProSport, I'll just chime in here..

I'm done installing a ProSport Premium Gauge myself on my Speed3 but I do have an issue with it already.. what's the reading supposed to be when the Acc. is on? Shouldn't it be set to 0? i.e. no vacuum/no boost. Mine reads -2 :wtf: What about you guys? Is there a way to adjust the needle to where it should be?

Other than that, the amber lighting is a perfect match with the rest of the cluster and I registered a peak boost around 16 PSI which tells me the install is fine.

Sometimes gauge positions arent 100% accurate. Anyone who has ever owned a autometer gauge, can vouch for that.

Does it show 0 with the ignition off, than goes to -2 vac when you start up and idle? 2 Inches of vac isnt much and means you have a vac leak.

Thanks Haltech. It shows -2 with ignition off. In the neighborhood of -22 at idle. Actually I was suprised to see -1 this morning so I wonder if the heat in the engine bay somewhat plays a role and mislead the sensor? With a very good run yesterday, the needle was dead on -4!

i am going to buy the elctrical boost gauge. i jsut want to make sure i get the right one. i want the one that does the light show before startup and after shutdown. i saw the two gauges on prosport and i want to know if there is any difference between the mechanical and elctrical gauges performance wise or is the only difference the light show?

If you want the opening ceremony, you need to get the electronic gauge. Word on the street is that the manual gauges are more accurate, but you need to run tubing (not just wiring) into the cabin. Electronic wiring is a little easier to get through the fire wall...

Dont be alarmed than. -22 Inches of vacuum is about right for the MS3 at idle.

My prosport peak-hold boost gauge is exactly like yours. Whith the engine off and the ignition on acc the boost gauge is not on 0 it's like -2 psi off. My peak boost is like 15psi but I only get 15 on 5th and 6th on 4th I usually don't get more than 10-12 when driving spirited.

My car is bone stock. I'm amazed at how smart the ECU is on the speed3.

If prosport had a low-profile mechanical boost controller I would get it in a heartbeat. Mechanical is more accurate and responds much faster then electronic boost gauges.
