Holy s***!!!!!!!!!!!! (omg)

He didn't even break his ankles?

nope, he was ok I guess... I just remembered seeing that last night and realized how crazy and high that was...

He had over three seconds of free-fall to think about how much that landing was going to hurt. This is precisely why I stopped competing in freestyle snowboarding.

(headshake how does he not break a bone???????????????????????????????????????

How ******* big do they have to make the half-pipe for it to be "X" enough for them? That is ridiculous! They are endangering the lives of the participants, it's completely irresponsible. **** the X-games.

Several years ago at the winter X they had downhill speed biking on snow. Professional mountain bike downhill racers were going side-by-side in aero-suits down an icy slope. This is not something they made up for the X-games, it's been done before. What the X-games did that pissed me off was to put a big-ass barrier, somewhat padded, waaaaaay too close to the finish line, so that there was no way the riders could stop without plowing into this thing, and there was NO reason for it to be that close. It's like they're trying to hurt someone to stir up a buzz and get better ratings. It's crap.

Agreed. You have to have a death-wish to get even a second look from sponsors and/or an audience in "extreme" sports anymore.

We watched that too. It was nuts. Both shoes flew off.

Dude on the bike trying to do a double back flip was crazy too.

lol i think you're being a little extreme on this one....I gaurantee you every one of the competitors jumped on the chance to take on this ramp...most of these guys live for that stuff....so the Xgames people are only giving them what they want...

man it must have been awkward to be doing to play by play on that.. what could you say to the audience when they just possibly watched someone die on live TV?

Sheesh.. that skateboarder is lucky to be alive.. I guess those guys prepare for the worst and know how to take a fall.

That guy is lucky he didn't shatter his ankles, knees and hip from the force of the impact. His damn shoes flew off. If he didn't have a helmet on I bet they would still be picking his brains off the floor. That is so insane.

Yeah was watching this live too... grew up skating and was actually sponsored for awhile, but people got too crazy to keep up with. The 20+ stair rails, 2 story gaps, and now this big air s*** are all insane. You couldn't pay me to even drop in on that roll-in, not even including the enormous gap and 40 foot vert wall.

And Burnquist is rolling down that thing SWITCH? Ugh.

Glad he is ok, I thought he was seriously injured when he wasn't moving for awhile. Then they showed the replay from down on the ground and I couldn't believe he got up under his own power. Looked like some major whiplash to go along with many broken bones.
