Best Exhaust!

u only need that big pf a pipe if u have turbo. stick a header on with the RB catback and its sounds pretty deep

Racing Beat. If you do a setup like the one "definitely recommended" above, you will piss off all your neighbors and go deaf in the process. I don't even want to imagine the drone on the highway.

Im guessing this was to me.. personally I never had any compliants or anything about it. The exhaust actually wasnt really that loud. It sounded great actually. Not raspy or deafing or anything like that. But hey Ive never heard the racing beat exhaust so I cant pass judgement. I just gave my opinion on what my exhaust sounded like. I wish I had a sound pic of it to show but I dont. Oh well. If your that concerned contact BKJT05 cause he is the one that bought it from me. Later.

Ok first nice quote

and second im looking for a lower throaty kind of a sound. Ive heard that pipes 2,1/2" to 3" diamiter are better for HP but what's do you look for when looking for low sound?

youll lose alot of torque if u put 3 inch piping on. thats way to big for this car. hell its to big for the mazda 6s
racing beat has a nice low tone, and i think the greddy sp2 exhaust is just as good.

and if by throaty u mean like an srt4 i got water in my exhaust pipes type sound i hope ur kidding.

Anyone have any sound bits from theirs? I had a Ractive cat back but lost it when a Navigator hit me and now I have some Tunabe craptacular muffler welded to custom pipes.

I need a new set up.

i do but its from a crappy camera phone and doesnt sound anything like it does in person

lol that wasnt quite what i was talking about...i meant like a STI with the STI muffler, amazing sound

gotcha lol

one of my regulars comes who comes into my work has a STI with the subaru factory preformance exhaust. gives me a boner whenever i hear his car come into the parking lot.

just a nice low rumble

the racing beat exhaust has a nice tone, but isnt loud, and isnt noticeable unless you rev up. the engine is louder then exhaust at times.

ive also heard great things about the greddy sp2.

maybe go with one of those, but also get headers and a hi flow cat. the sound would probably much deeper.

Best? There is no one answer to that. Different ones are better for different reasons. The best one is one of several different ones that that fit best, last longest, is the best deal for you or just sounds the best to you & not in any particular order. What everyone else has is the same thing.

Hey NCZ13 how loud is gonna sound my 99' protege 1.6 with this Sebring Tuning 2.25''/2.50'' muffler on?? (not sure about size)

i have no idea ive never heard of that exhaust or know anyone that has it.

but that thing looks beat dude.

oh and i wouldnt get a muffler that isnt flanged, because that looks like it was welded and then cut.

and get a full cat back, not just a muffler. or your car will sound like craaap.

Mm thx, i'm looking for a low noise muffler..i had that same sebring muffler on my old 92 miata and it sound pretty loud... what ya think? any more options on mufflers?

actually i'm a lil bit short in money now.. i can afford to weld on that on my protege.. but like a said cops will get behind you if you sound loud here! :(

People had problem with the HKS. I love my Thermal catback.

+1...i just installed mine yesterday and it sounds awesome...but of course, i have an sls j-midpipe and the turbo attached to it too so it might sound a bit different...

If you can't afford a full cat-back, get a used MSP axle-back shortened to fit the P5...Racing beat quality, performance, and sound at a fraction of the cost...

megan racing all the way! people say that it is too loud or it is a ricey exhaust. its wrong

the sound quality is excellent

if your looking for that pure japanese inline 4 look and sound, then this is the one you want, guarenteed. no regrets.

4 1/2 inch tip. its a big tip but the muffler doesnt stick out or look like its barely hanging on. its tucked in nice into the stock body.
