The Official Mazda2 Wheel Thread

Quick question, will 205/40/17 fit? Bought the rims and tires thinking it'll fit. I've been told that they'll rub. Any experience? Or is there something special i need to do?

Hi guys, Im looking at a set of 16x8" 30+ running a 205/45/16 tyre.
Would this setup fit (without issues/scrubbing) on a lowered 2 DE?

The alloy is XXR 531.
Tyre is BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE003

Thanks in advance.

It's running on PEDDERS Sports Ryder springs and PEDDERS shocks.
The drop is about 30-40mm.

I'm hoping to pop pictures up here once my new, DJ series Mazda2 arrives in about six weeks. :)

In the interim, can anybody please offer some advice regarding my hoped-for wheel/tyre installation?

I'm hoping to install 17x17.5 inch wheels - the exact same offset as OEM, 40 - with 215/45-R17 tyres. I am just concerned that there may be rubbing issues with either suspension or the guards, as these wheels would be one inch wider on the inside and outside.

I'm not looking at lowering (due to my driveway), so ride height will be stock.

Please, has anybody equipped the equivalent setup successfully, or have modifications been required? Or is it just a total "nope, can't do that"?

I could also go down to 205 width tyres if it means a successful outcome, just the 215s would remain closer to the original circumference.

Thanks so much for any help!

Got my Mazda2 a few weeks ago after my 94 Miata was totaled. Swapped the Miata M edition wheels over before I sell the Miata for parts. Spent too many hours polishing these up to let them go. Also they are only 10.5 lb each so the handling is nice and quick.
