Well the wagon has been through allot over these past 5 years and s*** is starting to fall off so it's time to finally start a build to try and keep Ole Yeller going.
I'll start with the bad, the rear brakes are gone (calipers are seized and one side is actually missing a pad), struts and springs are toast, needs bushings EVERYWHERE, exhaust is ultra custom rust muffler delete (the muffler rotted off lol), engine mounts are all cracked out, engine is starting to smoke a good bit and transmission hasn't held fluid in 3 years. That being said I've driven it everyday for the past 5 years and it's taken a beating. (2 miles of haul roads everyday for 2 years probably didn't help), I'm pretty amazed this car is still running but it's sad to see the condition it's in and a little piece of me dies every time I hear another piece bouncing down the road behind me on the freeway.
So I've decided to finally start rebuilding, I'm going to start with an engine and trans, and then gather all the suspension goodies I can and hopefully I can do everything all at once and just take a week off to install everything.
My plan for the engine, I'm going to stay NA and keep it simple and reliable.

So this is pretty much my plan of attack, most of this list will probably change seeing as I've never done anything this big before and don't really know my stuff, but hopefully at the end I will haha. I just picked a '97 626 engine to start tearing down, I've heard you can use the block but everything else will need to be swapped out with protege spec parts or it won't run quite right. Anyways I'm hoping you guys can help me out along the way and maybe this will eventually help someone else out. I will get pics when it's not dumping down rain.
(Edit) I revised my to do list for my budget and ocd(lol), I priced out allot of it and realized I'd be in my mid thirtys before I finished. Btw if anyone has part ideas or knows any info you wanna share feel free to fill up the comments [emoji6]🖒
