'06 Black Cherry Mica MS6
Hey all, my name is Ken. I have been lurking around for a while and thought I would introduce myself. I live in Kamloops, British Columbia, work as an HVAC tech and bought a new car in January. Think I made the right choice?

That's right, a mint condition '97 Toyota Tercel complete with automatic transmission, manual locks, and windows and an odd noise when you step on the gas pedal.

I'd say that's a step up! Looks good. Any plans for mods? If you have any questions there are tons of stickies to check out that will lead you in the right direction.

oh FARK YAY!!! welcome to the MS6 family!
and black cherry, GOOD choice, rare, unique and sexy.

once you start doing a few mods, take some shexy pictures for out black cherry picture thread!
and welcome to 247!!

welcome to the MS6 family! :D I just joined myself......I've had my speed6 for about two weeks now and I LOVE IT.....

There are a bunch of helpful members on this board.....look around and read up on your options.....

Lookin good, love the color. Welcome to the forums.

Please, for the love of all that's holy though, remove that decal below the rear badge. You're not a rolling advertisement for that dealer (unless you work there).

Any plans for mods?

Now that's what I call an upgrade. how is it being a service tech up north, is it busy?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I do want to do some mods, but it will have to wait a while because:
1 - I have no money and need to pay off the car
2 - It is currentlt my wifes daily driver
However I do have plans for a few small items - dashhawk, SRI and motor mount, all pending cashflow. Although I was thinking about holding off a little longer on the SRI and picking up the corksport FMIC kit which comes with an intake. Can anyone give some insight on this piece as a bang for buck? and does it require tuning to get proper gains?
Oh yeah, thanks for the input, I will be removing that decal tonight

It's not too bad, it's quite slow right now, but summer will be busy. No one expects it here but we regularly see 100 degrees in the summer here in Kamloops.

Welcome! Nice looking speed6. I would have thought black until I read it was black cherry!

nice car and welcome to the boards.

on a stock car i would hold off on the fmic. not that it would hurt anything, you would get more for your money with just a simple intake upgrade. hell, for the cost of a FMIC kit. you could get an intake, turbo inlet pipe, and upgrade the TMIC. you'll see a nice gain with that and the benefit of a simple install.

Yeah, lots of time to think on it. I am pretty new to turbo cars and anything performance really. I will be taking it real slow due to funds, probly gonna start with a dashhawk and an intake. I know I probably don't need the dashhawk yet, but it seems like a good way to learn how the engine runs and what the mods do to it.
