using a seperate battery for the stereo

i was thinking about using a seperate battery for a stereo system in order to avoid all the problems people find by using the one powering the rest of the car's electronics. would this be any easier? what would i have to do besides just hooking it up like i would if i used the car's battery?

Actualy this will add strain to the system not help it. A better move would be to replace the stock battery.

If you want to do it thats fine but you'll need to get a battery isolator inline between the batteries to keep the stereo from draining the starter battery. A isolator also is needed if the batteries are not the same.
