i thought the illinois meet was supposed to be on june 7th, a saturday. now ive been getting emails that it is on feb 5th, next week, a wednesday night! i think next week is a horrible idea. i dont want to have a meet to look at the salt build-up on everyones car. plus, its on a wednesday night so i wont be able to come because i work a second shift schedule. i think having the meet in the summer is a much better idea. just my opinion. let me know what you other illinois members think.

My opinion is that warmer climate meets are the business while colder climate meets blows! What do you want to do, freeze your balls off or something? The point of the meet is to ooh and ahh each other and have fun. Versus sitting at a table looking through the frosted coated glass of a restaurant wishing for better weather.

Listen guys maybe for you the car thing is a summer time/part time deal(some of us drive our cars year round). If thats what works for you thats fine. But getting down on an Idea for people to get together and share some drinks, share thoughts on thier cars and meet new people who have similar interest's is kinda lame. Sorry if your schedule does'nt permit you to come hang out or your only into this to show off your ride (not make new friends), But some of us just want to hang out and this just may help us get thru winter and make it a little more bareable. Something to think about.. In the summer when the other meet goes on, I or someone else may have to work or some type of engagement. I know that I am not going to write about how it's a bad idea to have it that day and down it. I hope no else does either.

As I said before, I'm open to both and will try and show for both. The weather is pretty decent right now, so if it holds by weds. I'm all for taking advantage of it.

im not getting down on anyone for wanting to have a meet. pro5onspeed and i had talked about having a meet on june 7th. then the next day it was moved to feb 5th. all i was saying was that it was a horrible idea to do it in the winter. i dont know if im the only one that noticed, but its too damn cold to be outside for a meet. like someone said before, the purpose of a meet is too ooh and ahh at each others cars and talk about them. not to be standing outside freezing our balls off. dont get me wrong, i drive my car year round and would like to meet other p5 owners and discuss our cars, but i would much rather do it when its 75 degrees outside, not 15 degrees.

Agreed! I would prefer to meet in the summer as well. But this is a nice way to get together and talk cars compare notes and help get through the winter. I was never intending to move the June 7th event.(not mine to move) When I suggested the meet I did'nt know anything about the June meet. I hope this helps clear all of this up. It's all just about the cars and good times. If you guys can't make it maybe we'll see you in June.
