hey guys my speed is acting up! help.

k well heres the thing sometimes i dont here the turbo spool up and sometimes it does.
when i dont hear it i dont feel any power increase through the entire gear mainly 1st and 2nd.
when i do hear it power increase is obvious.
i read a thread here saying it could be cause of a bad wastegate.

another issue is i happen to clog up the intake tube (where the air flows into the stock box. and the car continued to run fine then i let go and could feel some suction, isnt this wrong isnt it suppose to make the engine bog down and even turn off?

help guys.

the car should definately stumble if you clog the intake. With lack of air going into the engine, the Mass air Sensor should get cofused and shut down. As to the spool thing, I am not to sure. Are you sure it has diff power when you here it or not? Sometimes the sound may influence the dicision on if you feel the power or not..

it didnt stumble at all just idled like normal, heh wierd. leak?
definately a increase when it spools. but none when it doesnt.

if it didn't stumble or anything, you may have a leak. with the turbo thing, here's what my car does. when the engine is cold, i can really feel the turbo pull around 2500 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear. but once the car warms up, the pull goes away. i suspect it's cause the intake is pulling in hotter air since the engine is warm. just a guess though. is this what you're kind of referring to?

have you checked all the piping?

i've noticed the MSP's use plastic piping for all the intake tubes, including the ones coming from the turbo.. there could be a crack or maybe a lost clamp somewhere along the way.. definately not a good thing, considering you'd be sucking in dirty air if it were so??

you really think thats what it is? i know it lags real bad but could the stuff im describing be that?

i dunno...it doesn't sound like it. the hesitation usually comes in around 4k rpm and should be pretty noticeable. i don't have the hesitation, that sudden pull just goes away for me. but the power remains steady throughout the rpms.

yeah that too but sometimes it doesnt even start,
dont feel no different or hear spool up?
i just made an appt. tommorrow at the dealer for it, ill probably one of the hundreds of us that come back with they couldnt do nothing but looking into it.
