Has anyone tried out the Pulstar plugs?

I'm looking into getting a set for my 5, but wanted to know if anyone has tried them out. They were about $25 a plug and now they have a lower price. Just under $11 per plug and they come in 2 flavors (depending on what your looking for). The platinum ones are $10.95 and iridium ones are $13.95, with shipping costing around $12.95. Well, let me know what you guys and gals think.

WAY too expensive for spark plugs. just get the regular NGK's for $2 and be done with it.

Does anyone else even know what the big deal about these plugs are? Sure they have a higher price, but they are supposed to be different than your ordinary plug. As a matter of fact, the company classifies them as "pulse plugs." I haven't looked into them recently, but I'd be curious if all of the claims hold up.

i think they use the same "Capacitor" marketing crap that the nology wires use. except these guys have it built into the plug, instead of in the wires. its not supposed to make any benefit, and in some cases, amke your performance worse. the only benefit to having a capacitor in the spark circuit is to make it "Look" stronger when used in marketing demos.

They are suppose to make a bigger spark to burn the fuel mixture better, hence the better mpg and slightly more power. Here's a link to there site with the info explaining it better: http://www.pulstar.com/pulsedpowertechnology.htm .

I'm looking at this to get better mpg's without major modding to the motor or body like on EcoModders.com. They last 100,000 miles or 4 years, according to their site.

i'm still not buying into their marketing.

in their FAQ, they reference this artical as proof that their plugs are awesome:
http://www.sparkplugs.com/sparkplug411.asp?kw=SRT-4+Dyno+Results&mfid=0

if you note, between the 4 highest rated plugs that they tested, there was only a spread between 203.5hp to 205.95hp. thats only about a 1% difference - at 200hp too.

i'll stick with the cheap regular NGK's, thanks.

and even if the pulsestars last 100,000 miles, at $2 each for the cheap plugs, i can change them out every 25,000 miles and still come out with more money in my pocket.

Your right about the price, but I'm not looking at the horsepower. I'm looking at the mpg's I could get. They do come with a 30 day warranty, could try it out for a couple of tanks and see. If they suck, return them and go with something else.

The vapor either explodes or it doesn't. If the coil is set up to produce the necessary spark then altering the actual spark plug is useless.

Reminds me of the Split Fire plug from back in the day. Rediculously expensive for no real advantage over regular plugs.

you would be better off getting the NGK iridium ones or whatever is in the vehicle now. O'reillys had the NGK iridium version for ~$8/plug a month ago. You;ll be out the S/H and the hassle.
