Another quick question...

Hello all-
I'm still looking into the MSP... and I sat in an SRT-4 today.
So here's the skinny. After that experience, I am in LOVE with the seats and dash in it. They put the MSP to shame (at least the seats do). I am downright afraid to test drive that beast lest my right foot (and the exhaust apparently) drown out all reason within me and I go for power over package.
My question is this - has anyone looked into replacing the seats in their MSP?
If so, what type of cost are you looking at? I will not be racing it, other than maybe auto-crossing sometimes.

Thanks!

If you autox it and have replaced the stock seats, it kicks you out of stock class.

The stock seats are fine in autox with a 3 inch wide racing belt and sub straps. I put S-Line racing belts in after fabbing some adaptor plates for the right belt and sub strap rings. The left belt will bolt right up to the stock mount.

Now I can left foot brake and not slide around in the stock seat at all.

Anyone wanna bet me this will turn into a MSP vs srt-4 Flamewar extravaganza? :)

That beast?????

I test drove it and its quick, but I wouldnt call a 14 second car is a beast. As for the interior, yep its looks cool, but the quality is s***. The seats are extra cheep and will tear easily. Heres something for you to think about before you purchase a neon; when was the last time you saw an turbo Dodge Omni on the streets? I still find plenty of Mazda 323s on the road. The best thing you can do is buy a pair of Mazdaspeed aftermarket seats and Slap them in the Speed, You will be a happy man.

Go with the Speed!

Whats that smell... EEwww

Do not be bewitched by the siren song of the fecal one. It is only a trap to get you into the vehicle and use it's evil assfumes to lull into signing on the skid marked line. Soon your olfactory senses will be reversed and you will no longer be aware of that most heinous of all smells; NEON!
Savor the sweet Masterful scent of pure Japanese Autogami that is the MSP. Balance, poise, beauty, and reliability -vs- Fugly, Bloated, and soon to be exploded.

The seats are fine without modification for autox. Before a run, I just slide my shoulder out from under the belt and retract it as much as possible, then engage the locking mechanism with a sharp tug. Slide your shoulder back in for a SUPER snug lock fit...depending on how much you retracted in the first place.

Peace...(hippy)
