2006 5 cd changer no longer reading

Anyone experienced this? Factory changer one day decided to stop reading. I can no longer load or unload cds. All I hear is changer cranking and stop moments later. Talked to Mazda dealer and they said to buy aftermarket. Not sure if there is some tweaking that can be done to rectify. Thanks.

My cd changer behaved exactly the same. I had 5 cd's in the unit. I ended up taking the unit apart to get the discs out. Try holding the eject button in for a few seconds to see if the cd's ejects. This unfortunatly didn't work for me. I later bought an aftermarket android DVD player for my MZ5 (2008).

I think this is a common problem to the Mazda cd changers.

Jeez, is it really a 2014? Mine made it from 2006 to 2013 before it did that. IOW, yes, the player will stop working. Yes you should not replace it with another OE unit. I have seen people in other cars use a 7" Samsung Galaxy tab as the HU. It fits inside a double DIN panel. You should be able to find some of these write-ups with a Google search.
