rear wiper blade

I replaced the rear wiper blade on a 2009 Mazda5. It didn't feel right when I bent the assembly back and now the wiper only touches the glass in the middle and not at the ends. Did I break it? I'm hoping I only damaged a spring rather than snapping off a plastic piece. Thank you, Jeff P...

(fyi) There is an alternative to going to the dealer for a replacement rear blade on the 2008+ Mazda Tribute. It may first appear that the blade and arm are one piece but if you take a look, you'll see the wiper blade can be replaced and its actually quite simple. It is a special wiper blade...
