missing trim

Hi all, I've owned numerous MX5's over the years and have loved the mazda brand. I have just recently bought a 2017 Mazda3 Sport Nav. Afger having jacked the car up for the first time, I have noticed that on both sides, there seems to be trim missing? The image above captures it well enough...
