engine cooling

I recently bought a 1997 mazda 323 protege 1.6L and i have noticed a leak, once the car gets hot it will leak all the coolant out of a metal pipe at the front passenger side of the engine the pipe isnt very thick, its metal, runs from just below the exhaust part it looks like up to a rubber tube...

So i know i am probably gonna end up having to get it checked out at a shop but i was just wandering if anyone else has had a problem with coolant boiling in the overflow container. I just changed the thermostat, and it still did the same thing it did before i changed it, with the coolant...
