door molding

Has anyone added rubber horizontal protective molding to the doors to keep from getting door dings? If so any pics? I'd like to do it but with the sculptured doors I don't see how to do it and have it look good.

Is there a way to restore the window molding? Min e is faded and has white spots on it. Pics attached.
