You in Toronto? have bad bushings?

Give me a PM, post it here whatever.

I need to know if your close to Mazda Head quarters. And if you'd be willing to drive your car over to them to show them the problem with the bushings.

I'll need to know how old the car is, how many kms, how many bushings you've had replaced, what dealer, any other parts replaced etc.

And most important....any mods?

I'll be contacting this guys at Mazda of Canada that is working with me, and suggesting to him to perhaps look at varous examples of the "clunk", and have their top techs figure this thing out.

They offered to do this to my car, but they want to ship it from NFLD to TO, and I don't like that idea at all.

Feel free to leave contact information ( do this through PM for your own safety ) so I can get a hold of you if needed.

I'm not promising anything, I'm only trying to arrange this at this point.

I think the Mazda Head quarters you are referring to isn't too far from where i live. If it's the same Head quarters were talking about, it's about 25 mins drive from my place.

Anyway, what exactly is it that they can do? Are you just going to 'trial and error' type of job? I don't want anyone messing around with my car if they don't know exactly what needs to be replaced.

The 'clunk' problems needs to be resolved, because it doesn't get annoying after going over several bumps in a day when it constantly 'clunks'..... i don't think it's a big job to resolve this problem anyway.....IMO, i think it's a small job, just need to know exactly where it is coming from and put something to prevent it from either moving, bottoming out, or shaking....something along those lines...;)

I left the business card at work But I am pretty sure it said scarborough Ontario? Spelling?

Sound right?

Again, I'm not sure as I don't have the business card.

All I am hoping to arrange is a meet with a few MP3 and MPS owners, where they go over, meet a tech, have them drive it around, prove the clunk is there, and from their it's up to you.

No, I don't want somone to guinea pig their car. If they want that, they can buy one back....say mine, and do it.

If you want them to take your car until it's fixed, that's up to you. I'm not saying they'll even agree to any of this at this point, I'm just wondering if i'd have the assistance of a few people in proving this problem is indeed serious, and common for all of us.

The guy I am dealing with, is going to be gone until mid next week anyhow, so I have some time to work with.

Hey..the Scarborough one sounds right.

The 'clunk' isn't really bothering me...I just wish they knew exactly where they have to go to replace/fix so there's nothing new to study about.

I can live with the 'clunk' as most of the time i avoid all manholes/potholes or what not on the road. But some are just unavoidable. Either way, if they know exactly what to fix, i'll be happy to take it back to them during my warrenty period.

But i don't want to go through all the hassle just to find out it's a small problem. i can surely live with the car with this minor problem.

if you do indeed have the clunk, it may be minor now, but just wait until your sway bar is just barely hanging on.....then it ain't so minor.

I'll keep u posted regardless.

How would you know if the sway bar is barely hanging on?
now you're scaring me....

you would go look at it and jiggle it around, and then youd know its barely hanging on.

I highly encourage anyone in the Toronto area with this problem to take it to Mazda HQ. This issue won't get resolved if no one shows up there; Mazda will assume Newf is some kind of weird fanatic if no one backs him up.
L.E. - haven't you read all the threads in the MP3 forum about the sway bar bushings? It can get really bad.
Whoever takes their car in, print out the threads on the sway bar bushing problem and hand it to them with highlights. Tell them for a potential buyer of an MSP, its almost enough of a deterrant to look elsewhere.

Aww man.
So this is just the beginning to the 'clunk'? What's next? The sway bars loosen up and then eventually fall off or something?:'(

I didn't read the thread about the Mp3 bushing/sway bar clunks... Since my car is still very new, i haven't really cared much about the clunk noise. Althoughi do hear it everytime i drive it around but it doesn't bother me much. I would like to get it fixed if someone knew the exact problem....But other than that, i could live with it.

When is this Mazda HQ date suppose to be held on? Who will be there on the date?

My car is getting fix on the 25th of FEB so if any of Toronto guys want to get in touch with Mazda HQ I guess 24th would be the best day for me. Im really busy until 22nd of FEb. I have exams and so much stuff to be done. I already offered "Newf" to hook me up with Mazda. And I guess I post a reply to Newf's thread letters are working on 28th of Jan 03, suggesting that couple of Toronto MP3 owners should go to mazda together but no one responded positively. Nay ways the best I can do is trying to cooperate with any one who is willing to get in touch with MAZDA HQ. it should be on the 24th of Feb 03. As I mentioned Im busy until 22nd and 25th my car is getting fixed for the 2nd time. What is the point of seeing Mazda after its being fixed? Again if any of you guys want to meet with mazda Im free to do it on 24th of Feb 03.
Later
** Ill post this on MP3 forum too.

I won't know if this is a go untill Thursday guys, then I'll have a date, and contact info.

u will know asap

again, i ain't promising nothing. I have ZERO faith and trust in Mazda of Canada.

Hey Newf

I'm in. i have an Orange Speed, and notice a clunk in the back when going over any kind of road imperfections, made worse with the snow when it's uneven. sounds like something is bouncing off the spare tire cover (i know that's not it).

As i've said before, new cars should not clunk. Neither should cars that are repaired at the dealer.

It sounds like Newf has the worst case of all, and i'm willing to make the drive to Scarberia (joke) to let Mazda know i'm not happy.

Maybe if (as Grimace said) they realize that potential buyers may shy away from buying Mazda, let alone with all the delays in delivery, they wil do something.

I don't think 1 person going up against Mazda Canada will do it though.
Anyone who is able should make the trip guys, remember next time it may be you who's in Newf's position.

As for Mazda, I have a friend who keeps telling me that Mazda's doing everything right with their product, especially since Honda has "dropped the ball" so to speak.

I wish i had visited this site prior to buying my car. Had i known about the BS Mazda's been doing, I maybe would have thought twice.

Great cars is one thing. POS customer service is another.

Let's all help out Newf and let Mazda know where we stand.

Post the time and date when you get it Newf, i'll get out of work to get there.

p.s. Impromptu meet as well guys. Bring cameras!

by the way. I v'e read here that Racing beat spec'd urethane bushings while azda went with rubber. Would that make a difference?
Are the rbber bushings just wearing out too fast or are they not stiff enough?
I had all kinds of creaks and groans on my Integra. i had a full set of Prothane bushings installed and it tightened things up nicely. A couple of them squeaked, but that was insufficient grease during the install.
I don't see what greasing the bushings from the outside is gonna do (What Mazda does and calls a repair).
When my Integra was squeaking, i asked my mechanic to do that, he said not too as the lubricant would eventually break down the urethane.
If the urethane bushings would slve the problem, do any company's make them for our cars while retaining the Racinb beat sway bars????

Won't know nuttin until Thursday.

And thanks guys for everything. one guy can only "yell' so loud, so the more the better.

Don't think we are the only ones Mazda is ignoring. I've heard rumours of people with the New Pick ups having bad brake problems, and Mazda is treating them like s*** as well. Although, it doesn't seem to be as common as the bushing problem.

Basically, Mazda has it's Head up it's A$$. Their becoming more like Ford everyday.

Guys, if you want to be a part of this I need NAmes, addresses, VIN #, Phone numbers, Dealer, KMS on car ASAP

I pm'd a s*** load of people last night, and only got 2 two responses!

State your problem in email as well, and make of car.

email me at steves@nf.sympatico.ca for a faster response.
