Yellow MP3 = VERY BAD LUCK!!!

I got my car on october 20th, all was well...exactly one month afterward, my car got broken into through the back right corner window. They stole my sub, messing up my wires, they stole my head unit (z828) using a screw driver to completely MANGLE the part of the dasboard around it (silverish). Finally, 2 months later after having to deal with the HORRIBLE service at my dealership, i send my car in, and just to my luck, i crashed the loaner car...I would think that was enough, i get my car back and the back seat isnt clamped down, in the passenger legroom in the far back left corner the panel is barely hanging on....i fexed it my self knowing that i wouldnt get any sort of service from the dealership after my little performance with their car. THEN the clutch starts to act up, and there are very minor bet quite annoying noises coming from the car, and increase daily. Then somehow, someone managed to drop a nickle in the console where the handbrake is, and everytime i take a sharp turn i hear it moving from one side of the car to the other. Then i am washing my car, and running the sponge over the passenger side of the side skirt, and the paint chips, and then a chunk of the pinstripe FALLS OFF!!! SO far i have had bad luck with this car, and a VERY bad experience with the dealership....now i am almost 1,000 miles over my last due oil change (which is free at the dealership for 3 years/30K) and i am afraid to take it in b/c of what they might do. I am slowly regretting every last penny that was spent on this car, and i am seriously considering waiting for the new MP3 to come out, or to purchase the new 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V and trade in my car. Any advice?

Seriously - Get a Nissan. Why, if you are having so much trouble with Mazda, would you want to get another one?

I have a good dealer that I work with on both of my cars, but that's me. I certainly know that is not everyone's experience.

Pinstripe??? wow prob the only MP3 I know of that the dealership put on a pinstripe. How much extra was the pinstripe $200-$300 ???

Try and find a different dealership near you. Even if it is a little further away, you might get better service. Give that a try before you decide to get rid of the car.

I took my car to a dealership close to me, the sales manager walked out, looked at it, and said "That's ******* Ugly". I guess some people don't realize that CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESN'T STOP once the car is driven off the lot. Customer Service never ends.

Damn, I thought I had bad luck. I'm sorry man. I'm driving my loaner car around paranoid as hell, just waiting for something else to go horribly wrong. Don't give up on the MP3 just yet. Get a quality alarm and switch dealerships if you like. If it was me I'd march right in there and get done whatever needs to be done. They have to help you out, whether they like it or not. I do understand your hesitance though. I hate those situations.
If worst comes to worst, talk to the owner about the crappy service and tell him/her your going to go elsewhere because of it. If you be respectful, it should work. At least it did for me. The minor inconvenience of going through an uncomfortable situation is well worth having your car in great shape. Just my $.02. Good Luck!

yep...pinstripes...EVERY one at the dealer I got my P-5 from has pinstripes....they are painted on too....the dealer has it done to EVERYONE except the yellow ones......they get an extra $200 for it.

I can tell you how to get the nickle out......just stick your fingers through the slot in the console that the E-brake handle sticks out of...and pull up....that entire piece just pops out....then that leaves you with a big hole to not only look through...but to put your hand through and pick up the nickle.... I have had mine out...it is how you access the two screws that holds that part of your console to the floor.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE BAD LUCK.........THEY AREN'T MAKING ANOTHER MP3 SO THAT IS OUT OF THE QUESTION......THE SPEC V NISSIAN SENTRA LOOKS PRETTY COOL.....THAT WAS ONE OF MY CHOICES ALONG WITH THE MP3.....FLASHY INTERIOR HAS AN AFTERMARKET SYSTEM ALSO.....HAS A LITTLE MORE POWER.........I DO LOVE MY MP3 AND WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR ANY HONDA, ACURA,TOYOTA ETC......EVEN THOUGH THOSE CARS ARE TIGHT AS WELL........IT IS NICE TO SEE SOMETHING OTHER THAN AN ACURA OR HONDA ON THE ROAD.........GOOD LUCK IN YOUR CHOICE............IF I WERE YOU, AND HAD THE MONEY I WOULD GET THE NEW BMW COOPER......I KNOW IT IS DIFFERENT BUT I HEARD IT IS AROUND $20,000 TO $25,000.....THAT IS A VERY UNIQUE CAR.......

pinstripe and more bad luck

the pinstripe was part of some "package" that was added on to my car from the dealership....i dunno it came with pinstripes and some other things i have no clue as to what they are, but the whole package was $875 - pretty ridiculous. Either way, i somehow forgot to mention the minor detail that 2 weeks after i got my car it got keyed by a girl-meaning that it wasnt tooo deep, but some parts were pretty bad...mirror glaze $7 worked REAL well...i have to seriously think about what ia m doing...i am almost 2000 miles over the last due oilchange and its not working out too well...i am starting to reallyh get fed up
