xDJ DUBx's 03.5 Pure White LX-T

lol. I think the OBX,SLS,RB exhaust is what I'll end up getting whenever I get around to that.

Yeah, I heard the Lyntech valve body gives the trans a more stiff feeling and changes gears quicker. Sweet =]

you just missed a group buy on them over on the mazda forum

They ended up a few guys short, so it fell through

Engine upgrades in this order:
  • Injen CAI
  • OBX headers(unless you can afford a nicer 4-2-1 header like AWR)
  • Racing Beat catback
  • SLS midpipe
  • 626/PG intake manifold(or remove VTCS and P&P your OEM IM)
  • Weapon R torque damper
  • SU engine mounts(or just fill all your OEM mounts)
  • Light weight pulley kit
  • Stand alone engine management

That is what I would do. I did all but the catback(I had the RB axleback), and EMS and it pulled amazingly. Also forget about MP3 ECU on your car, you have to have a manual tranny to run that. You will get some great HP numbers if you do these mods, aspecially and more importantly the stand alone engine management. After you do that there is also some other small things you can do like Magnacore spark plug wires, better spark plugs like NGK's, ground kit, voltage stablizer, etc. Then if you really want to go all out you port and polish your head, get high compression pistions, etc.

What do you think my motor mods list should be? I know I'm not going to be buying anything soon but I always like to have a list written down, obviously from my previous posts, its an OCD thing. lol.

So far I want Injen CAI and a Corksport Exhaust or OBX header with SLS catted mid-pipe and a RB cat-back and a Optima Yellow Top.

Being an automatic and all, I'm not really going to make this thing a beast, I just want to do a hand full of bolt ons. Anything you think I should add to my list?
if your looking for bolt on mod. def look into a super and turbo charging (at the same time) ;) haha.

What about an Underdrive pulley? I've been pushed that direction lately.

Hmm, thanks Dan :D

I couldn't really think of much but now I have a good list. Is there a how-to on the VTCS and P&P removal? Would it be equivalint to the 626 mani or would it be better just to buy the 626?

Noob questions.
What does the torque damper do?
Is there a difference between the AWR motor mounts and the SU mounts?
I've heard only the underdrive pully will make a power difference and the others will just lighten the load, is this true?

Yes, that is a must. But I would not do an underdrive pulley, but a light weight crank pulley like Midievals. UDP's cause belt squealing sometimes and do cause problems in some cases.

Yes, there is a how to for the VTCS and P&P in the how to section of the forum. I could find the link if you can't. I would start of doing that if you want to save some money before you go the 626 intake mani, but if you have the money go for the 626 mani. It will give you the best overall HP's

A torque damper keeps the engine from moving back and forth while excelerating and shifting. It takes a lot of stress off the engine mounts, and it helps you get your HP's to the ground better.

As far as engine mounts. AWR are stiffer than SU mounts which will cause more vibrations in your interior but are better for racing setups. Really if you want to save some money on the mounts I would just fill your OEM ones instead. That works just as well as aftermarket. There is a how to on how to do that as well in the how to section of the forum.

As for UDP look what I posted above to Pro5x2

I will post up links for those how to's for ya

Sounds like double negatives?
Are you saying...
The under drive pully is a must but you wouldn't do a underdrive pully other than light weight crank pulleys from mideval?

Thanks for the links!

Thanks for the links!

I am saying it is a must to get one or the other but I would suggest a lightweight crank pulley that is not underdriven(not a smaller diameter)

if you're going to stay NA then i'd just do a p&p, the more air flow from the 626 will not give you much gain unless you go boosted.

right?

plus he's right about it not costing much to do...or you could get one from me that if finished doing... wink, wink...

Oh yeah, I pretty much got my list finished up, check out the bottom of the first post and tell me if you think I'm headed in a good direction

Got some bad news for ya. I won't be able to sell that lip to you after all. I officially got rid of the P5 and the lip went with it. Sorry bro
