Gonna use it for the haltech I'm going to be using. The machine shop is gonna modify it so I can use the focus cam gear.

You do not need a shop to modify it.

The focus gear is precisely what I have been using for 4 years.
I did it on a work bench with a drill.

My only fear is that the gear will weaken if I drill it.

You will need to undo the 5 screws and re attach them as is detailed in my build up thread called "how To Haltech ECU" on www.mp5t.com

BTW, they have made the three position cam gear work now in the software so you dont need to do any of this s***.
