Im recently the proud owner of a 2003 protege 5 fully loaded with sunburst yellow, and ive had someone take off the dash part that houses the stock stereo system just to see what type of setup is there and how much work would be needed to change out the stereo or if it was even worth it to, but the person pulled it out too hard with the climate controls still attached, and when it was all put together, the ac button stopped working, and ive lost all my heat settings except vent and floors, and im wondering if this would be something easily fixed or if i should bring it to the nearest dealer to get fixed

check to see if everything in the back of it is still plugged in first off. Secondly you are going to need to check the cables and if they are still where they need to be. The first cable is to the right of your gas pedal the other cable is located behind the glove box

there are ways around your emissions. it all depends on what you replace. if you put a catless header on the car then yes you will need a fix for the sensor.
It is possible to do a AWD P5. its possible to do anything with enough time an money. There is a euro spec AWD p5 but the AWD system was fairly weak and its going to be pointless in a NA p5 neway
