Windshield Wipers - Issue

Yesterday while driving, it was raining and my wipers had some hesitations while in motion. It went away, but now when they are off, they stay in the "up" position instead of down at the windshield base. Has anyone had this happen to them? Curious about this. I'm going to have the dealer check it when I bring the car in for the 30,000 service.

Ouch, you let the dealer do your routine maintenance? Brave individual. Anyway, An ECU reset might take care of it. You might try this: when the wipers are running, shut the motor off just as they get to the bottom of the windshield. Then turn the wipers off, and restart the engine. Turn the wipers on, then off and see if they "park" correctly. Do the '07s have automatic wipers?

Yup.

I do let them do the maintenance. They are a client of mine and I haven't had to pay for anything, plus, warranty reasons as well.

They're not, but 30K service is. Bendog, did that zany suggestion fix the issue?

I tried to no avail. The wipers are now not working at all. The car's going in this week, It'll be taken care of, hopefully it doesn't rain on my way there!

Shux. Well, it did seem a bit far-fetched. Ditto on the no-rain hope.

If you turn the wipers on and stand outside the car do they do absolutely nothing, or can you hear the motor activating? If you can hear the motor then a likely explanation is the linkage between the motor and wipers may have come loose. Alternately the nuts at the "hinge" point of the arm may have loosened.
