Window Tint

Ok,
I have finally gotten the funds to tint my car and I was going to ask for some suggestions. I live in Texas, and the legal limit is I believe 25% on the side windows and you can do limo on the hatch. If I was to do this, the legal limit all the way around, do you guys think it would look strange with the 25% and then limo.

I want it legal because Im the dude who balances everyone else in life for getting away with s*** like this, I always got pulled over in my civic for illegal tint and no front plate, so I am not doing that anymore.

I also want the limo tint in the rear because nothing pisses me off more than when Im driving at night and some idiot in his jacked up truck with the extra row of lights on top (because you need that in downtown Houston) gets behind me and stays there for 40 miles.

Thanks for the input.

where you live in tx? when i went in and had my tint done, i just told them legal in front and a lil darker in back....cause i like to see.....but it looks good...i had it done at mother's window tint in austin

edit: call me lazy for not reading your whole post

i know what u mean about the lights being bright as hell and it sucks. i dont think it would look 2 odd. to have 2 different tints.here in illinois its illegal to have any tint on the driver or passenger window but every thing in the back is ok. so i got it all to match cause i woulda got a ticket no matter how dark...and i did...8 of them so far lol...but yeah just do it limo and then 25 it will be fine

i dont' think it would look weird at all.

if you were to have a strip on the windshield, no tint up front, 35 for the passengers, and limo in the back corner windows and rear window it might look weird during the day

in texas the legal tint is 35% on front two windows, 20% on rear side windows, and limo on hatch/back window. i personally have 20% on all side windows and limo on the hatch. i haven't gotten stopped (knock on wood) but then again if i see a cop i tend to crack my window down to let in some light.... and fyi, if you go to Hurricane Glass, they will only do 35% in the front. you can prolly ask them for the darker tint up front, maybe they'll do it but without a lifetime warranty.

on my previous mazda 6, i had 35% up front, and 20% on rest of windows and it didn't look bad at all. i got it done at Hurricane.

i gots 22 all the way around. love it. it blocks out enough ligh from headlights in the back but i can still see when its pitch dark. imo if you go to datrk in the back you will regret it. it gets pretty hard to see at night whn your trying to see through your mirrors. maybe its just me. good luck.

I ended up getting 35% on the two sides (texas legal limit is 25 %- http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/tint.htm#state_laws). I wanted the warranty and to get that I had to do the legal and this is the closest to it they had. I did the limo in the back. It looks good, I'll post some pics up once my weekly wash gets done. I wish it was 20% but its ok, and keeps things legal. I was especially happy when I pulled up to my apartment and my neighbor got out and started bitching how he just got a ticket because his windows were too dark. :)

they must have changed it..i always remembered it being 35%...but anyway..that link you have is kinda dumb...it says 20% is allowed on two front windows but 25% is the darkest on the rear side windows....that doesn't make much sense. that's kinda ass backwards... but anyway, nice to see you finally got it done.....where did you get it at?

Yea, I read that also. Anyway I just didn't want you to think I was pulling that out of my ass. I was visiting a friend in the woodlands and got it done at Infinity tint and alarm. They were the same price as Hurricane. I wanted to go with either of them because they are actually in buildings and look like they wont fail, if i need to use the warranty. Also, I somewhat wish I would have gone to Hurricane knowing that I could have possibly gotten the 20% but last night standing next to the car I couldn't see in, so I think that is dark enough for me. And my girlfriends first reaction was, "wow, thats super dark"...sweet.

oh i know, the neighbor i talked about in post #7 has 15% around. Also I had 20% on my civic, so it is taking some getting use to, not being so dark this time around.
