my first thought was maybe i had the wrong plugs in there, so i just changed them out with the zfr7f-11's and still the same...as soon as i go to WOT in any gear the a/f goes all the way lean and i cant understand what is causing it to do this??? anyone have any suggestions??

COIL OR WIRES ARCING OR BAD

that cant be good. i wonder how i could pin point that exactly, and how much a new set off coils would be?

If thats what it is I will sell you mine and the wires for $50 shipped. If there is no CEL then its hard to figure out whats going on. That was just a guess on my part but I can ask the Master Techs when they get in on Monday

You have an MSP right?

right on dude. yeah my bad i keep forgetting they deleted my old screen name cause its been a long time since ive been around here, and i havent gotten around to doing my sig. it is an msp though.

thats cool.

any word? just fyi, i tend to run about 10psi in the warmer months and stock in the cooler. i had an fcd after i first bought the car new but 32 degrees+10psi= stupid fast and probably a little too risky ie. i liked it a little too much so i got rid of it. but now im just cold air, type s on stock pipes, and gutted cats.

not yet I am trying to get with them but 1 is on vacation and the other is rebuilding a eclipse/Talon TSI. I will get it then

i also noticed today some associated pinging or detonation, i cant remember the difference between the two, but i know what of them pertains to an extremly lean condition. i just cant figure out why this isonly occuring at wot. i would think if the coils were ****** it would be lean all the time?

OK...if anything..the PCM will dump more fuel at WOT...that is bazarre.....needs some hands-on triage...

The ECU goes into closed loop under boost. You need to have a wideband to read the A/F in boost I do believe.

No, the ECU goes into open loop under most boost conditions. It stays in closed loop for as long as it can to maintain a stoic A/F.

Are you using a wideband or a narrow band gauge? If narrowband, which o2 sensor did you wire the gauge to? At what rpm do you hear pinging?

My bad I got the open and closed confused. I have a narrow and it doesn't read A/F at WOT.

i have been using a narrow band autometer for about 40,000 miles now and it has read consistanly the same the whole time unitll recently. i only heard the ping once and that was a couple of days ago when i wanted to see how the car reacted at wot for a longer duration. id have to say it was around 5-6000. i dont stay at wot, as soon as it starts to move out of the green im shifting. heres a thought, i was wandering today if maybe it could just be a clogged fuel filter, or maybe something fuel related since it is fine under normal conditions, it only does this when the car should be getting lots of fuel. it has 53000 on it now and i dont believe i ever changed the filter...dont smack i guess i forgot, but i figure i probably should have changed it by now??? maybe dirty injectors or a dying pump....what are your thoughts on that??

I think you should stop worrying until you get a wideband hooked up. Even if the narrowband gauge is giving a different reading.

i have to believe something is wrong if for all this time it was reading correctly and now its leaning out with associated pinging, thast a little to hard to ignore i think?

are we all out of ideas here, cause i dont know what to do? lets just pretend i had a wide band and it read the same way, what would you be trying to do next to figure out why this thing is leaning out? would getting fuel control be though way to do it?
