Whistle noise after warm up

Yeah, at Mazda they told me the whistle was coming from the trans and that they recommend a replacement to get rid of it. That would be 7500 USD. Yeah, no.

I barely notice it anymore and the car runs fine, there's another user here with the same whistle, he ran it from 20k miles and still has no issues and the trans fluid looks good to this day. I did a transmission fluid drain and fill just in case.

I'll keep the maintenance by the book and drive this thing to the ground.
From 40-60mph and increasing pitch with speed?

Actually no. If driving, I hear it in first and second gear mostly. And it's constant when its at park or in neutral, and it increases if I press on the gas while in P/N. If I change the gear to D or R it will go away until I press the glass and start moving.

Definitely not normal, but that description points to engine and not transmission if you ask me.

Edit: realized we covered this a few months ago on the first page.

Yeah, it's a very faint noise. You can hear it in the video I posted in the first page. I can also hear it if I get out of the car and get close to the front driver's side wheel, I swear I can hear the noise coming from right behind that wheel.

Well that's where the transmission is. The symptoms are strange to me though. Only the impeller is spinning while the car is not moving. And if it were the impeller side, I don't think the sound would ever go away while driving in any gear at any speed. But I'm no expert.

I also have no idea why I can hear it while in park or neutral. Maybe the torque converter? I gave up at this point.

Yes, half of the torque converter is being spun so it's possible it could make noise.

I edited my post as I was using the wrong terminology.

Does it have a specific engine RPM where it peaks?
