Where's the ECU?!

I just installed my Greddy TT and have the 3 main wires hooked up (12v, Ignition, and Acc) and now i'm trying to figure out how to hook up the parking break and speed wires. I know the colors of the wires i'm splicing into and where they are on the ECU...my only problem is i don't know where the ECU is or what it looks like. Can anyone help me? (shrug)

Under the passenger side carpet. You'll have to pull up the doorsill, remove the plastic kick panels and pull the carpet up. There are two 10mm nuts on the firewall and two 10mm nuts on the floor holding the cover in. Be careful when removing the cover, the edges are sharp.. I would (and did) wear gloves. The ECU is on the backside of that cover attached with four more 10mm nuts.

Also, removing the glovebox will give you quite a bit more room to work. And thanks for posting this in the right section.

yea, if you have gloves, definately wear them, i didn't and cut my hands like 4 times...also when replacing the ecu there is a slot type of looking thing on the bracket to place the ecu in so it sits right, make sure to put it back inside that slot.

i didnt get cut at all....nor did i remove the ECU from the plate that was holding it in....but i would suggest it for ease of working space anyway.

make sure you hook up the wire from the turbo timer to the SPEED SENSOR wire, and not the tach wire like on the HKS unit. If you do not, the car will die when you turn it off; the timer will not keep it running.

you dont HAVE to hook them up. but if you want the timer to be able to estimate how long it should stay on from driving time/style/speed, then you have to hook up the wire.

if you dont hook it up, you can still run off of the preset times...

if you hook it up to the wrong wire. it doesnt work at all.

Actually, the Greddy WILL calculate run time depending on RPM without that connection made.

I am not, however, able to use the attack or best modes. Then again, I haven't played with the unit in those modes enough to say that for sure, so don't take that as a final word.

However, yeah, the timer will be able to calculate cool down time based on RPM without the ECU hookup. At least this is the case with the Greddy.

Thanks that will help me a lot. Yeah I know you don't really need those other wires to be connected but I'd like to see how the other features work on my TT. Maybe find a nice straightaway for those attack times. I guess I'll try to get at the ECU tomorrow. (msptitani
