Where to start?

Ok, as far as my engine goes, my p5 is completely stock. So I have decided to bite the bullet and go for boost. If I do this, I want to go big, or go home!

The problem is, I have no idea where to start. I am not a mechanic, but have a firm grasp of how cars work, and are put together.


I know that any more than 6-8psi, and I need to uprate the internals. I have a good engine builder (he build race engines for the BMW MINI), who has offered his assistance.

I want reliability, but I want powah! Out of a fwd car, I know I'm never going to be able to go too silly, but I'm aiming for the 250bhp mark.

Any parts that I'll need will need to be imported, as there are no performance suppliers in the UK

What do I need (shopping list), and what steps do I need to take?

You could look for someone selling a MSP turbo kit and offer to pick up most of the shipping cost. It will not be cheap by any means. but definitely check out the turbo sticky.
