Whats with the tension?

I havent been here long, but it seems to me, that this community is worse than Downtown NYC. People are constant at each others throat.

Im a forum member at Gtplanet and various other auto forums, I havent noticed a problem with these forums.

Im not saying the admins/mod are doing a bad job. Im saying, why the hell are we biting each other's head off? We signed up for this forum to be part of a Mazda community. So come on ease off... if you see something you dun like, PM it to a mod or admin...

lol, jk. yeah you should have been here back in the day. back with all the OG's, it was a much better place. but with any large community there emerges the "wrong element" and it ***** it up for the rest of us. that combined with weak modding/ admining perpetrators of bad vibes are allowed to continue their ways.

I understand your concern...Know that we are doing everything we can to keep this community on it's feet and I truly feel that this is a great community and will always be one but we constantly have to deal with the occasional member/s who do nothing but cause a lot of drama and BS throughout the site and spread negative vibes in many of the forums. If these sorts of members did not exist we wouldn't have 90% of the drama and BS that we do now.

I am forever committed to making this community unsuitable for trolls, flamers and BS posters.

It is getting to be an annoyance...honestly though, i dont even realize the half of what goes on until im talkin to someone and they bring it up...thats cause i just ignore it...its not hard really...i dont have anyone on ignore...i just scroll past those posts, or dont open threads....

when i first starting posting, i was always lookin in all the sections...now i only frequent the for sale section and the MI section...anywhere else i go is usually cuz i see it on the 'recent posts' column

Just because we've grown in size does not mean we will yield at all to the "wrong element". I've realized I can't fully rely on mods to hold the frontlines anymore...I've got to go in there and take out the trash myself. After all I started this community with enry and I will always do everything I can to keep the BS out and the goodness in.

That is the best way to avoid the drama and enjoy the site...but most some people are just incapable of ignoring anything.

im not saying that you need to do more, since its impossible for you to read all the threads, but thats why theres mods. i just think more active policing would be better, even if that means being "the man" and censoring/ disciplining members.

actually, for some people...i wont name names....i think getting ignored would be the BEST punishment, cause they are just screaming for attention (wiggle) just my take on it...i could be wrong(dunno)

I really enjoy this forum and everything it has to offer. I'd like to think that other members and moderators here can see that. I will agree that the general attitude has gotten more hostile and more combative in the last year and many people I fondly remember when I first signed up have since made themselves scarce.

The community has really grown and I imagine its hard if not impossible to keep an eye on everything said or everything posted - hence the creation of "Super Mods", I imagine? I do think that there needs to be a stricter and fairer penalty system and enforcement of the rules across the board. Things like the thread with Ceej's kid beinh killed, regardless of who is at fault, was just overboard. I was very happy to see how quickly Linux began investigating it.

I think by and large Antoine and Enry work VERY hard to make this a positive forum and I for one appreciate thier efforts. In the end though its the members that make the mood and set the tone for the community and I think everyone should keep that in mind before making a hostile post.

Like charles has helped me with my 1st gen protege problems but problems just dun stop, lol.

Btw what are OGs? "o god?" lol...

The only suggestion I have is to add :
You know the pic on the left side, where join date, location etc. is. Add a "warning" section. And if it reaches 3 times, tempory ban. 5 times, banned.

It could be hard to implement since I dont know the exact coding of the php files. If you guys need help in modding the system, let me know I'll volunteer.

This place has a much kick-back feel to it because we don't have to worry about being banned. If someone bugs you, put 'em on "ignore" and be done with it. There's a couple of people around that would love it if Charles was banned. If they got their wish, he would have never been able to help you out.

I agree. There is a slightly more mellow nature to things for the time being as compared to 6 months ago when there were threads that complained, about posts that complained about the protege(most commonly the msp). It was crazy, a negative post would pop up every 5 minutes. Now I just see bickering between owners of different makes, and of late it's just between a few members.
