What kind of burned CDs does 2006 Mazda3 i sedan play?

As in the title, I have a 2006 Mazda3i sedan, standard 1-disc CD player. I've made simple audio-track CDs that play in the car. But I know there are different types of burned CDs, and DVDs, but I don't know which ones will play in my car. Normal audio track CDs usually only hold about 20 or so tracks, but my friend said that you can burn mp3 CDs that have dozens of songs, or DVDs that have a lot of mp3s. Basically, I want to know what kind of disc I should burn to get the most songs on one disc; any help would be appreciated.

Even the Speed 3 with its top of the line Blose system can't play Mp3s. It's a major oversight in a new car, in my view. You're stuck with WMA-style audio, sorry.

???

There are bose systems with MP3 playback capability. I have one in my car and use it all the time. (eyeballs) Now if the HU doesn't specifically have MP3 playback scribed on it, then you're stuck with only music CD's. I'm not sure if MP3-compatible decks were offered back in 2006.

I got told they wouldn't work for 2008...from my friend that bought the '08 MSP3 before I did.

I always use the auxiliary input line in and play my MP3/Itunes stuff that way. I've actually never used the CD changer.

Maybe they changed something for 2009 or, maybe I'm just wrong.

the 2008.5 and up MS3 have an MP3 option.

yep...my 08.5 GT has it with the Bose System. however, I don't play MP3's much as with the 6 disc changer, I'd rather burn CD's and get a higher sound quality.

/confirm. My '09 non-Blose system plays MP3 discs. One at a time, of course, but it does. I do think I remember reading that the mp3 functionality was an 08.5 upgrade.

I doubt the OP's sytem will play anything but WAV (CD Audio) files. Definitely not DVD's.

depends on what the source is. If you burn the cds from an MP3 than there is no difference.

For '04-'05 all standard CD players (both single and 6CD) play only wav files. There was an optional accessory only (i.e. it was not offered stock on any trim level) single CD/Mp3 player for these year/models. An auxiliary input was not offered OEM.

for '06-'08 all standard CD players (both single and 6CD) play only wav files. There was an optional accessory only 6CD/Mp3 player for these year models. A 3.5mm audio input (Not an ipod jack people!!!!!!) was standard starting in '07.

For all '08.5+ models Mp3 playback is standard on all models, either single CD or 6CD depending on your trim/options.

My Ipod Shuffle plays through the audio jack, no problem, as does any Mp3 player we have around the house.

Thanks for the clarification on Mp3 capability.
