What have you done to your P5 today?

Painted the wink mirror white with blue splatter

well successful night, i managed to pull the 14 sec pass i wanted, yet at only 93 mph. My best before this time at the track was a 15.5 @ 91 with 6-7 psi and full p5 exhaust and msp lsd. This time, 8-9 psi, open downpipe and open diff. I managed to pull better 60' times with the open diff :D

so i went out for a drive and noticed that i havnt been of the freeway for a long time.
but what i noticed that at 60mph the steering wheel seams to just float and become very sensitive. and at 75mph it has a vibration to it.

im going to backtrack and replace parts like wheels and take off the wheel spacers to see if that helps at all.
this doesnt help the fact that i've been wanting to sell the P5 and get a subaru... or maybe its a sign!

Did the 1.8 coil conversion couple days ago and took a nice 500 mile drive over the weekend. Very happy with the way the car feels accelerating. Not faster but super smooth!

Washed and a very light coat of wax on the P5 Saturday morning. Did not get to work on the RX-8.

Nice, I'll be doing this soon :)

I'm confused. How does the steering float AND be sensitive? Maybe your tie rods are mushy. And just get your wheels balanced to take out the vibes.

My uncle sold his MZ3 because he bought cheap after market wheels and complained of steering vibration on the highway. Haha.

I auto-x mine this weekend (9th out of 14th in my rookie class. I'm slow) but had a freaking blast doing it. Yesterday I replaced the brake lines with Stoptech SS ones from CR3, installed the speedbleeders and painted the calipers black.

Alllllll thanks to JiggaBro! This is a killer buy for $13. Cut and assembled. Took it to Ace Hardware to get it cut just to find out they could only do one side because their machine is too old to flip the blank for the other side. So I got it half way done... fo free! (wow) I took it to Walmart today to see if they could finish it for me - I even offered to pay for a full key - AND IT WORKED!!!! However, they didn't have a matching blank to charge me for it... so I got the whole key cut, again, FO FREE!!!!! (wow) When all is said and done - purchase, taxes, s&h, cut costs - $13! BOOM!!!

So I finally have something to add to this thread...
After searching pull-a-parts website relentlessly, a P5 finally popped up. I was beyond excited! I needed a few replacement parts and I crossed my fingers the entire 3 hour drive to see the car that it was in half decent shape... I ended up getting a new front bumper cover with marker lights and lower grill, a CAI, and a chrome box that I later found out is used for cars with turbos? (Although the car I pulled it from did not have a turbo) Some one can correct me on this, I'm not really sure what it is, but the pull-a-part check out people didn't know what it was either and only charged me 8 dollars for it, so i figured it was probably worth it. So I got it all for under $60. :) Oh and an oil dipstick, because i broke mine.

Sent the bumper right off to be painted and still waiting anyday to get it back. I also painted the CAI anodized purple to match my sway bar, and installed it yesterday. There is still something off with it. It stalls out a little when I take off from stationary position. I am going to replace all the sensors and things from my old intake to see if that is the problem (I currently have on the sensors and things from the car I pulled it from).

Also painted some 17" rims I picked up for a steal a while back. I was getting bored with my chrome ones, so I bought these gray. I think the gray makes the P5 look too aggressive, so decided to paint them white. (I figure I can always paint them back) Stuck them on the car just to take a quick pic, waiting for some smaller tires to come in before i put the rims back on. (I rub like crazy with these)

Finally I took out my fog lights to be repainted. I bought some purple tint from ebay hoping to use that on my fogs instead of painting them, but it is more of a pink, and barely visible. I did use it to cover the painted fogs to hopefully prolong the life a bit. I dont have a picture of the finished paint but I had some awesome help taking them out.

Oh and PS: I know my purple fogs aren't the most loved idea on this site, but we've been there, done that so no negative comments on that, If you don't like them fine, but they are on my car not yours :p

Coming up next:
get the new bumper on
take off the rest of the door molding off (its digusting) I have to find a way to get the black stain that was left behind from the tape (I took off the front two small pieces already)

Well I guess that's it, sorry for the long post, hubby and I will be getting ready for Scrapin' the Coast in Mississippi the rest of the week, so beach pics soon. :)

Drove it back from the great state of Ohio! Props to the team Ohio people for hosting an awesome movie night, it was a real pleasure to finally meet everybody :)

I really didn't take enough pictures, this is the only pic I have of the two P5's at the autocross event. It should be fairly easy to guess which one's mine :P

it will float and if i correct it a little it becomes very jerky.
and i had it balanced last month when i put new tires on it. its not like i do too much highway driving so its not a super big deal.

also i was wondering if anyone had a good recommendations for front rotors and brakes

Got 2008.5 MS3 wheels. So far everyone has told me to leave it's stock color. I had a gunmetal accent theme going with my car and leaving it the stock silver has thrown me off. I photoshopped my wheels gunmetal and love it. Tell me which color you like better

Here is my car on stock wheels painted that color

Gunmetal doesn't look bad but I love the silver.

;) Moved from the other thread.

hey JDM i had the same thought running through my head. midnight blue with gunmetal stock wheels and stock color msp wheels. i ended up keeping them silver (got them powder coated) so i have the choice of going from gunmetal to silver whenever i like.
like if you ever want to change up the look alittle

I pretty much traded my stock wheels for these MS3 wheels. Guy was selling his p5 and wanted stock wheels. I had new tries so he got mine. Rico has my wheels and painted them the color I want. I'm going to wait until I get my front end painted and get my CF hood. Once my shell is complete, I can debate wheels color. I'm leaning towards gunmetal
