What have you done to your MS3 today?

tried to figure out why my damn suspension is clunking. tightened up the lower strut mount bolts. the sway bar end links seem tight.

and put on winter wheels and tires.

Figure it out? My front suspension was clunking... dealer basically gave me a new front end.. new struts, endlinks, sway bar bushings, and both control arms. First they only tried the endlinks and struts, but I told them it sounded like the bushings, so they brought it back in to do that and ordered the control arms just in case. Not sure if they just put the control arms in to make sure it was done or if there was causing the clunks or some of the clunks.

I had the same clunk in the front end. AWR endlinks fixed it completely. the stock endlinks were almost dry inside the boots on BOTH sides. but now I i have a little bit of one on the drivers side because i have a bad medieval rear mm that is loose so im replacing it this week with the SU one.

thats a good dealership

full detail: wash, clay bar, polish, and wax. bad cell phone cam pics, but whatever.

yeah i havent really figured it out yet....there are new shocks and struts in there(Koni FSDs). I really just thought everything wiggled itself loose a bit after the install so i just re-torqued everything....seem to make it worse oddly enough. I dunno....Ill look at it sometime this week a bit more and see what i come up with. Worse case scenario i bring it to the dealer. Wont be covered under warranty but oh well it saves me the headache of trying to trace it.

Looked at it because I can't drive it... Have to sort out the following engine codes:

P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire
P0427 - Catalyst under efficiency (I think I killed my cat from misfiring)
P0300 - HO2S Bank 1 Sen 1 Heater Circuit (I think my O2 sensor is dead or unplugged or wires melted to the exhaust pipe)
I also received a hi voltage O2 sensor code

Looks like work for a warmer day :(

Checked O2 sensor plugs to make sure they were tight. They seemed to be.

Popped my engine cover off and found a wire for my Compustar Alarm/Starter on the ignition circuit was exposed. Taped it up until I can cut/solder/heatshrink it.

Found and fixed a vacuum leak on the line feeding my BPV and boost gauge.

No check engine lights so far on a three hour drive. YAY!

Car is pulling much harder. BPV must have been partially open for quite a while although I was not showing lowered boost. My boost wasn't spiking as high as normal before, mind you.

What do most guys put down for stock boost? I am running the stock intake (due to fuel cut) and a catted TBE and I spike 15psi and hold 11psi. I am running the stock BPV as well.

You should spike around 17 to 18 I believe and hold 15psi to 14 in 3rd gear and up. In 1&2 gear you won't get full boost.

What valve is it and what is the temperature outside?

I actually took a glance at my boost gauge today and spiked around an 18.

You spike 18psi with a stock intake? I spike 14-15 and hold 11-12 which does seem low.

Temp today was around 13C or 55.4F. I am using the stock BPV.

I am also in Alberta, Canada which is likely a higher elevation which would also affect my boost pressure... maybe.

I don't want to come to a conclusion so soon but yup could be the stock bov lol.

The stock BPV doesn't hold to 15psi? I would think it should at least be able to hold stock pressure... Then again, it is a Mazda part

I guess I will re-install my HKS SSQV tomorrow and see if it helps. I took it off when I planned to go back to stock... I don't think I can rock this car completely stock anymore.

Well... if your stock valve is leaking or not could depend on a lot of things... if you are pushing more than 15.6 psi of boost then the stock valve really can't handle much of that extra and starts to bleed it off. But since your car is completely stock I don't know if that is exactly the case... Try throwing the SSQV on and see if it makes a difference.

I'm not stock by the way... read my sig.

washed her, and did a quick coat of Blackfire sealant. Great stuff, smells yummy, kind of like shampoo. Also vaccumed and cleaned the trunk.

I'm running a TBE. I will stop cluttering this thread now :)

I hit a curb and need a new tire! Thats what I did to my MS3 today! Kinda pissed but could always be worse! So im not complaining to much!

also realized where one of my rattles is coming from...inside the passenger side rear door! YAYYYY! I just love going to the ******* dealer.

I shaved her legs and underarms and gave her a good bath yesterday. Other than that been enjoying the 40-50* boostcrazy tempertures
