What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

grrr, stupid Truck Add Ons hasn't shipped my Hypertech yet... I wish all companies were as quick as newegg. looks like I won't get it until midweek :(

mmm ok, but i think you'll be disappointed with the numbers you put down

compared with the same amount of mods done to the car, the AP or Standback will net higher numbers, and thats a proven fact.

i mean just look what happened to a bunch of local guys in my area

i dont usually "bash" products from anyone, but when something doesnt work, it doesnt work.

^car has never been drag raced. lol :D

i dont think steve ever tracked it, i could be wrong though. and even if he did the cars back to stock anyways so it doesnt matter.

thanks for the input. I dont care what numbers my car puts down. I don't care if I could tweak out an extra 5-10hp with the Cobb AP or SB. I will NEVER be fully bolted or even close to it. I may Dyno it once, but really just for fun. I don't want to have to mess around a shitload with the tuning. If I don't like the improvement, I'll send it back. Not everyone wants to squeeze every last drop of power out of the car and gets a hard-on at a number on a graph that has so much variability based on which dyno was used and how big the fan is. I'm looking for an improvement in the driving experience and it looks like I'll get that with the Hypertech.

If I ever get a second car and want to start messing around with tuning and learn how to do it, then I could sell the HT for $275-$300 and then go for the AP. Don't tell me that I'm just going to get a Dashhawk anyway so I might as well have gotten the Cobb, because the Dashhawk is a far better in-car monitor than the AP.

One of the guys in your link that had a bad experience had a DP, and when you're that modded the HT is not the ECU option for you. Not enough flexibility. Ive heard all over that the HT is not very useful once you get a DP and that you should go AP/SB. I don't have a DP and dont plan on getting one any time soon. The HT is meant for people who have an intake, CBE, and TMIC at most and want to drive more than they have to worry about ATR and LTFTs and other crazy acronyms that I'm still trying to figure out.

how many miles do you have on em?

My last set I got about 20k miles out of. On this new set I have about 10k. Great tire. Its a pretty soft tire at a treadwear of 280. You lose mileage but theres a lot more grab. Higher treadwear you will get more miles. Harder tire.

I love them. All of my past tires always seemed to wear out fast on the very insides. These do not since they are targeted more towards negative camber. Not that I even run a great deal of camber. but also the fact that the are not directional you can cross rotate them. Which reminds me I am about 3k miles past do on a rotate.

But if it does make more power than stock then it is a performance gain.. ALbeit not the AP/CPE etc

Is it going to be delivered in a covered trailer and everything with 0.0 miles on it? How long does this process usually take? I've never met anyone who has ordered a car from the factory before... if so you're gonna post pics of the unveiling I take it?

Basically, once you put an order in, it's seperate from dealer stock, and you put a deposit on it. The dealer has very clear instructions that once it comes off the trailer and into the bay, they can do their fluid/PDI checks, and that's it. I want the plastic on everything when I get there, and once I arrive, I will drive it with the salesman to go and get the car filled up.

The benefits are on a new vehicle that you know everywhere it's been. I won't have to worry about shoddy wash jobs, joyriders, and other nonsense that a dealer stock car may have had to endure.

And since I detail, I will properly prep the car after taking delivery. A good clay, seal, and wax and interior protection will be in order on day one. I'm also going to be installing a few aesthetic parts once the car arrives.

The whole process will take 6-8 weeks. I'll get my VIN and the tentative build date, and go from there. There's a small chance that I may actually get to watch my car being built on the day, but I don't know for 100% sure yet.

I would be giddy every day of that 6-8 weeks. I doubt I could last that long!

Anyways, despite all the haters invalid and valid arguments, I installed the Hypertech tune. Night and day difference. Feels like a different car. It's great, especially for just putting around town, and it pulls like a turbo charged car should... all the way to redline. Going to have to break the habit of shifting short at 5500rpm.

Oh, I'm going to be. It's a good time so far and I'm loving the fact that it's very close to being mine.

I'm sure the Hypertech makes it feel a lot better, once the throttle response is modified, you are amazed at how much different the car feels.

Received my Flex Innovations grounding kit. Going to install it in a few days when I am changing my oil. I have to get one of the wheels I bought repainted, the seller didn't tell me one of them was pretty scraped across the face. Once that is done I can do my suspension upgrade and get the Advans installed on the wheels. Pictures will follow.

Today I changed my power steering fluid for some Lucas Oil brand stuff. The old stuff was nearly black....ick. Stinky, too.

So apparently cardomain did away with the mazdaspeed6 category and combined it with the mazda6 one. I am still at the top. The silver ms6 converted from a mazda6 is a very close second. Yay. :D
