So i was driving home today and it was pouring. When i got home i noticed that my filter was wet (I have a cobb sri) However the car drove without any noticeable issues. Im guessing the water came through a gap in the headlight.

Should this be an issue i should worry about? If so what what should i do about it.

Thanks

You should be fine. There is always moisture in the air which evaporates in the engine combustion process. Some water on the filter wont hurt anything.

It is just when the filter is completely submerged you have a problem and you should get out of your car and swim for safety.

Add a little moisture and you'll cool your combustion and eliminate knock! Who needs water/methanol injection! :) Just kidding.

alright thanks guys... i was going to get the hydro sleeve thing that goes over the filter.

you can get that. and it will keep your filter dry. but then it will just get wet. so either way the air you engine is sucking in is still being filtered by a damp filtering device-whatever it may be- filter cover or not.

point is its not hurting anything. the filter is still doing its job (granted, maybe not as well). submersion is were you can run into problems.

oh alright i understand. I was just worried because it was pouring last night so i had to check how my filter was doing and i found that it was kinda wet. But it if you guys say its not problem i wont worry about it. Plus here in philly it doesn't pour hard like that often.
thanks for your input
