warranty work tomorrow - what else to have deal check?

I'm bringing my car in tomorrow for some warranty work. I have the P0171 check engine light (bank 1 lean) and usual squeaking bushings in the back for them to replace. Is there anything else I should have them look at while the car is in there? It's at 56k miles, I figure 60k is usually a check point for a lot of cars. Is there anything that tends to go at roughly that time? I haven't really noticed much else, the car seems to be running well besides the squeak. There's a $50-deductible on my extended warranty, so I figured I'd have them look at as much as they can while it's in there.

The stock radio is dead, but unfortunately that isn't covered by this extended warranty I have. I think I'm gonna get an eclipse unit to replace that. Oh well, there's another few hundred that I cant get around...

have them check for cracks in the mani. i had to double check after them after they replaced my O2 sensor...and found a hairline crack....look at your exhaust tip clean it and then check if the tip is seperating had mine warrantied. good luck

aight, well, I found out today that both dealers suck and extended warranties arent worth beans....
The sway bar bushings are being fixed for like $126, fair enough.

The check engine light is due to the wastegate being bad, but the warranty doesnt cover the parts on the turbo, just the freakin turbo itself!! I can't believe that an internal wastegate isn't considered the turbo! Argh, very frustrated right now. So today I have to pay $126 for the bushings + $95 for scanning the CEL, $221 and then I'll be reimbursed $77 from the warranty company, whoop de do. I still need to buy another head unit, and then replace the wastegate. I think I may be trading this thing in.

hmmm... find out of your extended warranty covers TSB issues on your vehicle. There is one currently out for the WGA for when it leaks... and is being replaced under warranty repair.

the issues you listed arent that expensive...

the WGA through ATP is $60 vs. the Mazda OEM part being 325. the only difference between the two is mazda's has an adjustable actuator rod.

as far as the headunit, you can replace for cheap or you could go high end... thats all in what you want.

if it makes you feel anybetter... I have a WGA that I need to replace as well, and my extended warranty didnt cover s*** either. They wouldnt even give me my money back unless I went through arbitration and took it up with the company legally. I didnt spend that much for it, but it was the principle of the whole ordeal. I still need a charcoal canister, WGA, and a window washer pump. Bushings need to be replaced for squeaking, but I just lube em up and it lasts for 2 months without issues...

Aight, so the anger from the extended warranty suckage has passed, now it's just irritating but I have no problem doing all the work myself. I usually prefer to do it on my own anyways, since I know I can trust myself.

Sway bars are fixed, no more squeaks there, woohoo!

I found this wastegate actuator on protege garage:

I assume that one will be sufficient for me. Is there any real benefit to the ATP one over this one? It's only a few bolts to swap it out, and the how-to made it sound like a fairly simple fix. I dont plan on modding the car much beyond stock, I'm actually going to list it for sale this week and feel out the market a bit. So I'm just wanting a wastegate that will fit the bill for replacing the oem stock one.

IIRC - the one on protegegarage.com is the ATP one, but youd have to check with ken for exact answer to that question.
