I have a P5 and just finished with all of the suspension and am looking try and put a MSP engine in my car, does anyone know what I will need from the msp to make it work ( like do I need the whole engine or do I just need the ecu, head turbo etc..) i want to see if I can't make it work but I need to talk to someone that knows what up.................................................

Thanks
Kevin Shrive

PS: for all you P5 owners out their I can pull away from a my friends WRX on windy roads...... So when people say P5's are slow just take them in the mountains and tell them you will wait for them at the top.........:D WRX (piss) (mj)

really if you get a stage two from spool and either get a msp ecu or a whole new set up you whould save some money and have just as nice of a set up.

don't put an msp engine in, for the money and effort it would take, you could have a turbo kit on your car making twice the hp and mabye 3 times the torque of a stock msp engine (don't flame me for the the numbers but you will have alot more power then the msp)

waste of time and money, unless you find a totaled one for real cheap

Without rebuilding the whole motor you will be maybe 10-15 more at the wheels than the MSP. The spool stage 2 will run about 6 or 7 psi (about the same as us). If you run more than 250 (crank hp) you gotta go forged internals.

My bad thats 4 to 5 psi so it'll be close to our wheel HP

plus all the hesitation and crappy fuel maps will come with it (runs like hell!)

j/k

but in all seriousness, itd be easier and cheaper to by a hiboost or spool kit.

You beat a WRX in the mountains?

:bs: (spank) (jerkit)

This isn't:bs:
I have been in this car, and let me tell you, it really will beat a WRX in the corners. Probably alot of other cars as well.
He has TEIN'S and they are the s***! I will see if I can change out my piddly little MP3 suspension for the TEIN'S soon.

patrick and kevin....

is this tein springs or tein coilovers? it was my understanding that the tein springs alone with even the mp3 suspension is softer than the stock mp3 suspension. if it's the coilovers, then (headbang) (bowdown)

By the way I have tein coilovers, end links, trailing links, 21mm adj. sway in the rear and front motor mount, and yes I beat one in the mountains, he couldn't keep up on the corners but he could catch up on the straights, You shouldn't doubt it till you try it....

Kevin

By the way thanks to everyone for you input, I just trying to see what path to go, and Yes I have done my research but had to ask about the engine swap idea.....

Thanks Agian

A WRX with a decent driver will hand you your ass. Corners AND straights. And everything else in between.

Oh and even if you get close to the WRX in the corners with your Teins, once the WRX is upgraded, it's all over again.

Sorry.

Also, why would you swap one bad engine for another bad engine with a turbo?

Given that the engines in the P5 and the MSP are identical, you're not really swapping anything are you?

Get a turbo, beat MSPs. Unless you have spare cash burning a hole in yer pockets.

he not to be a dick but why the F#@& are you such an asshole, i swear i thought everyone on this site would be cool and was willing to talk to evryone (which most people are) except for the people that feel the need to talk s*** and try to put everyone down, you should try to pull the stick out of you ass befor you sit down at you computer cause it seems like you need someone something to be pissed at, and this isn't the place to do it....... So pull the stick out of yorur ass and stop talking s*** try to make a reply that doesn't piss people off............

Wow...You sure know a lot.

Back on topic...

The MSP motor swap isn't a good idea. An aftermarket turbo is. The stock motor can handle 12 psi with proper tuning just fine. The MSP motor is nothing special. Although I have heard that they snuck in stronger rods at the port.

And a turbo P5 or my car for that matter is better than a stock MSP.

I don't see why you'd be pissed off. I am telling you what everyone else is telling you. Unless you have a lot of cash to waste, an MSP engine swap is pointless. The engine is the same, period. You ask for opinions and you get them.

The fact stands that a turbo will be more cost effective than an engine swap.

And the fact also stands that a WRX will take a P5 in the straights and in the corners with comparable mods.

i am not talking about comparable mods to a WRX i just might have access to a MSP engine for very CHEAP and was wondering if I should take it and If i did what is the bare essentials that i need to take off of the MSP engine to put on mine to work, EX: do i need the injectors, the pistons, rods, head, block, cause if I can I would rather just take off the parts that I need, It is along story but i can't take the engine out in one piece so i have to take it out in pieces and was wondering what exactly i need to take off.....

As to KpaBap:

the reason I was pissed is your reply's come off very offensive and kida make you sound like a dick...... No offense or anything!!!
