wait time for a cosmic blue mica MS3

imac

I Like Turbo?
when i was at the dealer the other day, he told me that there were basically only 4 colors running on the MS3 because the cosmic blue mica was incredibly hard to find. im likely gonna wait and not get one until next winter so its ready to drive in the nicer spring weather, so its not like i need the car soon or anything. ive only driven black cars, which look badass, but they're a bit of a pain to keep clean and i was gonna try something different if the MS3 came in another nice color, and i think the blue looks pretty sweet on it.

so what exactly is the deal with getting a hold of a cosmic blue MS3? if i put in an order well ahead of when i actually want to take delivery on it, will i get it, or are they running a really limited production of them or something?

The colour Cosmic Blue Mica was discontinued after the 2007 model run, so you can't order it as a colour any more.

Off the top of my head the available colours were:

2007: Red, Black, Cosmic Blue, White in Canada
2008: Red, Black, White, Grey

ok thanks. he didnt tell me it was discontinued, and the online brochure thing he sent me still had it listed as an available color.

looks like im gonna be rollin in black again (naughty)

If you can find or have the dealership find a new 2007 MS3 in Cosmic Blue, they can probably figure out a way to get it to you, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're willing to put in the work you can probably get the car.

By the way, Cosmic Blue is the best possible colour.

Do a search on mazdausa.com in your area and you'll probably find quite a few.

EDIT: Not sure where you are in NY, but I found two Cosmic Blue GT's out in Long Island at Wantagh Mazda.

You forgot Silver.

^^^^^

true. there's a 2008 CB Sport for sale at Hines Mazda in Temecula, CA

Yep 2007 and 2008 are exactly same. Everyone keeps confusing 2008.5 with 2008. Mazda should have just done the change for the 2008 models rather than waiting mid year.

Yup Just went to a dealership today they had one 08 cb...i have an 07 and he asked how i liked it, i replied loved it...he also said the cosmic blue is hard to find now...

It's strange your actually looking for a Cosmic Blue. People usually get stuck with that color because it's normally last on the lot. Go with the Black Mica and call it a day.

2008.5 is the last model year for the speed 3 so don't wait too long. There aren't going to be any 2009s.

i had heard that rumor on another forum before, but nobody could back it up, and i didnt find anything searching online either. if that's definitely the case, then that throws a big wrench into my plans. i'll either have to get the MS3 well before i wanted to, or i can wait till the spring and get a CSRT4 or C30 or something.

i got to drive an MS3 sunday and absolutely loved almost every aspect of it. it was fantastic. my big draw to the srt4 was family relations, and the ability to get it with a chrysler employee discount, tho when i couldnt drive one when i went to the dealer (all the ones on the lot were sold). the seats and ergonomics were far inferior to the maz, plus i pressed the clutch in a few times and could really feel the notoriously quick release on it, which seemed like it would be a pain in the ass in traffic. the c30 looks like a good car, but it'd be more than i'd want to spend.

you guys positive that production is being discontinued on the MS3 after this year?

I searched out to find the CB. It's the sleeper color. I'm trying hard to avoid the blue lights and the CB blends in well with the masses.

nevermind that last post... answered my own question about the production via a forum search.

sucks that they're getting rid of such a stellar car so quickly.

i saw a cosmic blue ms3 about 2 weeks ago at a dealer in orlando,fl it was brand new 2007 never sold...... name of the dealer is Sport Mazda of Orlando
