USB Port -- charging

My 2018 CX-9 usb ports have issues for charging. The ones between the front seats are so weak that they won't even charge my iPhone. The ones in the back, if they have only one device hooked in, charge my iPhone at a very slow rate. Am I doing something wrong? Do you think that there is a wire loose? I previously had a 2010 CX-9 that would charge my iPhone without difficulty through the front iPhone usb ports.

The ports in the armrest are 1.0 amps each and are meant just for USB media (i.e. playing music files from a USB device). If you want to charge from the first row, your only option is the 12v socket in the passenger footrest area. The two rear ports are 2.1 amps each and can charge devices.

When Mazda releases the optional AA/ACP upgrade, I believe the upgrade will include a more powerful replacement for those ports, as it would be required to use AA/ACP and charge at the same time. Until then, buy one of these and call it a day:
