US News and World Report ranked Mazda5 #2

Today issue of US New Report gives Mazda 5 second place in compact wagon categories.

Interesting, they ranked #1 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I owned PT for 7 years and treade it for Mazda5. In my opinion, Mazda5 is much superior vehicle. Mazda has much better driving dynamics - just compare turning cycle, much better ride, and 2 more passanger to carry, and hopefully Japanese quality. My Chrysler gave me hard time with expensive repairs after just 25K miles. Since I decided not to own any Chrysler build vehicle.
So my point, second place out of 17 is good for Mazda, but it should be number one indeed.

Mazda5 was last seen leading Consumer Reports' station wagon category, 86/100 points, well ahead of the Vibe/Matrix, PT Cruiser, and HHR. They should be sending out their annual Buyer's Guide but I don't think it's been toppled this year.

wow, very good results over some strong competition (Toyota/Scion/Subaru).

Personally, I had a PT Cruiser rental recently and I had nothing but good thoughts of it. The car has a really bad rap, and I thought this too before I drove one, but felt pretty solid. That being said, no I never owned one like you did so take that all with a grain of salt.
