Hey, so I'm sitting here reading news articles and I started thinking about this.
How is this going to end?
Will the US triumph? I personally don't think so, but it could happen. The main problem is the spirit of the Iraqi people who are apparently unhappy at the current US occupation. No, not all of them, but enough that Armed Forces have been having a hard time.
The Iraqi people, which I think most would agree are slightly less civilized or at least more impovershed financially, are fighting on their home ground. The soldiers over there mostly want to come home, they are fighting for ideals, and a paycheck - away from home. These soldiers no doubt have thoughts of their families and friends which they are fighting to protect. The Iraqi uprising however is fighting for those very same things, but on their own soil.
If the US could just use sheer might to win this, it would be over by now. But the problem is that the US can't find a way to spin the news to cover what would basically entail mass genocide.
Meanwhile, the UK has been scaling back much faster than the US on both deployment and investments. I wonder what the next president will do?
Now for something wierd - if you've ever seen the web phenom known as "all your base are belong to us", then you should know the following line:
"Somebody set up us the bomb "
put the words in reverse order and you get: "Bomb the US up set somebody".
Are videogames to blame??? Could it be that the Terrorists have been playing Zero Wing?
But back to my original rant, how can the US pull this off?
