Uh oh, the S2000 might lose it's crown to Ford

If Ford produces this new Festiva, Honda will lose it's crown having the highest horsepower/liter motor ever produced.

Bad Ass Festiva

This car actualy looks pretty hot, I'd buy one.

Oh, and the next NSX incase you all haven't seen it yet.
2005 NSX

Ben I had been meaning to ask you about something I came across. Aparently the S2000 was one of the most lemond lawed cars in 2001, do you know why?

I'm not a big fan of the festiva though :D

LOL Festiva!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH hahah

Oh thats good. Hey it will probably be great, but I just remember driving around in the little tin cup the old Festivas were. It was a fun car, GREAT on gas mileage, and a thrill to pass 18-wheelers with.

No clue why. The only widespread problems I know of with the S2000 is the vibrating clutch in the MY2000's and the early MY 2001's. The MY2000's also had different oil jet bolts under the pistons that only had 2 holes, the new ones have 4 holes. This is supposedly the cause of the #4 cylinder scoring and the rods breaking on very few cars. Besides that, there is only about 5 or 6 other TSB's about other un-important stuff.

Anyway, about the Festiva, yeah, the old one is ugly, but this new one is sweet.

I know someone this happened to. Engine came apart on the Eisenhower Expressway and someone then rear ended him. :( white with red seats, sigh, what a beauty RIP

I'm sure by that time Honda will up the bar.

I thought the 2005 NSX was V-8 Powered.

Wait ai minute, the mazda RX-8 has the highest HP output per N/A liter. Based on actual displacement, anyway.

What you folks neglected to read is that the name of the car is FIESTA, not FESTIVA.

FYI, the original Festiva is actually a Kia....

I know what the old Festiva was, my dad used to drive me around in one for years. But why are they calling it the Fiesta?

I'm sure the regular production model of it will be as butt-ugly as a Honda. Just another thing for me to point and laugh at when I see some 16 yr old kid driving it aruond town like he's hot s***.

Did you pay for that?

No....of course you didnt...daddy did.

Did you put all the mods in yourself?

No.... of course not, your too scared and ignorant to do it yourself. Daddy paid the dealer inflated prices to do a half-ass job.

LOL your right. Another example on how what we see isn't always what our mind responds to. Interesting article in slashdot where every word was mispelled just slighty, yet when you first read it the words look fine.

Honda already "kinda" upped the bar on s2000. The new s2k has 2.2l of displacement. redline got bumped down though. more tq and the hp still stays the same. suspension tuning also was installed.

The nsx shouldn't be v8. it'll lose that honda image of using small engine to beat larger engine powered cars. only nissan and toyota would do this kind of thing. v6 powered nsx is pure sexy.

And yea rx8 would be the best hp/l engine, but then again it's not exactly piston engine too. 237/1.3 > 240/2

Actually, the torque was increased by 9 lbft and the yes, the horsepower stayed the same. But, the only real improvement was that the peak horsepower is now at 7000 instead of 8300, and peak torque is now at like 6500 instead of in the 7000's. But many people are unhappy with the 1000 rpm drop. But this had to be done to protect the engine. The 2.2L is basically a stroked version of the 2.0 with a 0.1 increase in compression(was 11:1, now 11.1:1)

The reason for the lower rpm is because with the longer stroke, the piston speeds were increased. The piston speeds of the S2000 were already the highest of all production cars ever made. They are actually just under the piston speeds of F1 cars which rev to upwards of 14,000 rpm. The S2000 achieves these speeds with only 9000rpm. But with the longer stroke, something had to give if the car was to stay at the same price.

And I was talking about HP/Liter for piston engines, not time bombs,....I mean rotary engines.:D

That's true...But the original Vtec powered car from the begining was V8 powered
