Turn signals work but relay isn't clicking

We just got a new stereo installed on my wife's 3. The turn signals and hazards work fine, but the relay isn't making clicking sounds on the inside and the turn signal indicators aren't flashing.

I also noticed that a little airbag light is now stuck on. It's the one that looks like the side view of a guy with an airbag deploying in his face. I checked the fuses and they all seem to be fine. Any ideas?

take it back to whoever installed the stereo. sounds like you have a short somewhere.

THanks sam. Also I forgot to mention the Brake! light is on as well.

Hmmm, sounds like the stereo installer forgot a few things along the way. If they had the dash apart, they probably left something disconnected, or they tapped into a harness somwhere for power that they shouldn't have. I'd take it right back immediately. If it was a big chain though, I'd let them know, then take it to a good tech for repairs. If they can't get a radio installed without fouling up other electricals, I'd be careful letting them go further into it.

Heheheh actually it was a buddy of mine who installed it . He's done countless installs of head units and iPod integration units but we did the steering-wheel controls unit as well and he said that was a bit tricky.

I'll probably ask him to check the wiring again. I won't be a b**** about it though, this dude is a big help. He helped us install a new stove last month and that involved modding our baseboards and cabinets in the kitchen!

I'm still alive

We're going to put the factory stereo back in and hit up the dealership with ignorance in our faces.

We also had a problem with the air conditioner not blowing cold air anymore.

We finally put the factory head unit back in and all the problems went away. Does anybody have any idea how installing an aftermarket head unit could mess with the air conditioner and turn signals and brake light? We followed the crutchfield instructions exactly... pretty stumped here.
