Where to begin? I bought the TurboXS racepipe from mazda3performanceparts.com back in Feb. of this year. Did not receive the pipe until April because of backorder for the gaskets. Anyway, I just put the pipe on 2 weeks ago and Monday evening I was out for a drive, shifted into 2nd and POW. A very load bang from underneath and the car sounded like s***, very, very loud. Today, finally got the car up on jacks and the flex part of the flange had blown out the back of the pipe. TurboXS just pressed the flange and pipe together with no weld! What the hell!!! So, I called Frank @ the web sit above and he helped me out alot. TurboXS is sending me a new pipe with the weld in it. Here are some pics. Frank is very good to deal with and will continue to do business with them. As far as any more TurboXS products, no way!!! http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=129731&stc=1&d=1208978494

That sucks. Did they at least tell you why they sent you one that wasn't welded? I mean, did you just get a bum one or is that how they are all made?

No reason as to why they wern't welded and not all were like that. The 1st ones made were shipped out like that then they fixed the problem. Just my luck, I got a bad one.

eh, turboxs seems to be building a bad rep with the ms3. this, no instructions for a fmic, and the gaskets with the testpipes. my friend had his gasket fall apart a couple months ago. turboxs said they would send him a new one. he's called them SEVERAL times about the gasket and they say the same thing everytime, we are sending you one out tomorrow. in the end aluminum foil is holding for now......

at least they're making an effort to fix things however. maybe they were having issues or it was a bad batch.

Thanks for the good words supergoose. Yes his was one of two returns that I have had because the pipe was sent without a weld on that front connection. From everything I can tell it is isolated and was a very small group of pipes that Turboxs sent out at that time. I unfortunately must have gotten two of them. It was a mistake on Turboxs's part and an absolute nightmare for me as dealer. These parts are not going on beat up Honda civics and to say the least I was pretty chapped.

Luckly at the time of those backorders those were the only two I sold. When I have to double check welds before sending out an item something is very wrong. I have sold many more sets since then without problems it looks like they are on backorder once again.
It is not easy to see the weld as the bead is the same color of the pipe but with close inspection you can see that it is there. When I get to another computer I'll put some pictures up. I am glad Turboxs is without fuss sending out new pipes. I would otherwise have no choice but to refund and pull Turboxs products off the site.
