TurboTimer with Boost gauge .. good ?

Like the title says ... i'd like to know what you guys think. I'm about to buy a turbo timer and was looking at all the models availlable and Blitz has one with an integrated boost gauge. Is it a good idea or the 2 shouldnt be mixed together ?

I've got the Blitz. I've had it for a month and haven't put it on yet along with my springs, downpipe, exhuast, well the list goes on and on, just too busy at work, but...I do have my Boost Guage and I wasn't going to hook up the Blitz to the boost just for the simple fact I won't be looking at the Turbotimer guage for boost, I want it big and smack in front of my face. The screen is so small for the Blitz one.

I see what you mean. I don't want my boost gauge to be seen from outside the car. Two of my friends had their cars broken into. One of them only a week after putting his gauges on his dash. But anyway, i don't wana have gauges all over my dash so i'm either looking at a turbo timer / boost gauge solution, that i could just look at the boost every once in a while or to tune with an MBC. i dont see the point of having it in my face all the time hehe

So either the turbo timer thing or i'll try to fix something to have it in the din under the HU, behind the little door

I own the blitz with the bar readings and it has saved me a lot of hassle. I didn't really want a guage pod to be viseable so I just tucked it in the pocket below the fog switch. I will admit it's not ideal for tunning on the fly but is viseable from the drivers seat and would seem to be quite accurate. Just keep in mind it's not analog unlike most boost gauges (obviously) so that may bug you.

This site will be handy also since it's not reading in psi but hkpa

i dont mind if its not analog. i just want something not visible and dont mind if its different. its not like i'm going to look at it every 10sec to see how much boost its pushing. I want it to know, first of all, what my stock boost is because i've read that not everybody is boosting the same thing ( + or - 1psi). I also dont mind if i have to convert hkpa to psi for the same reason i just mentionned ... its just to "know". It will also help if i put in an mbc to know when to stop turning the knob =)

Yup, that was my thinking. If you look in my sig you can see where it's located if that's your thing. Also SAVE that link I gave you. It's extremely handy if you're like me and have you use a calculator to count to 10

well, according to that calculator, 1psi = 0.068947 bar ... i'm good in math, but not that good. i dont feel like figuring out was 6.7 x 0.068947 does so hehe

i can't find the TT pics in your thread =( all i saw were pics of the exterior and your leather seats (really nice btw)

am i blind ?

did you know that not all MSP are boosting the same PSI ? I've seen here a couple times people saying that they weren't at what it was supposed to be, so i wana know. But anyway, i eventually will raise the boost. I got the intercooler comin, then its the ion exhaust, and then i'll play with the boost a bit. but i think its worth it anyway. this TT costs only 20 or 25$ more than the other ones.

and if its useless ... why does the STi and other cars like that come with a boost gauge ?

EDIT: i started thinking maybe you were talking about the TT itself ..... that's just wrong. I drive my car to have fun. Try to do that and shut it down right away when you stop. see how long your turbo's gona last

yes they average 6-8 psi.

i dont think its useless because i have one. sti's have them because they are boosting way over 10 psi.

i just think that knowing what psi my car was set at and letting my turbo cool down properly is important. i dont need to check the boost every 10sec hehe

once all my major mods will be done and im ready to raise the boost, ill get a real gauge

Real gauge? I'd bet it's more accurate than many autometer gauges. Many of them start at 1psi out of the box (shrug)
