Turbohoses New Dyno

Hello,

We've just upgraded our dyno to a new load control dyno jet.
For those of you that don't know the difference, there are two types of chassis dynos: Inertia and load control. The classic inertia dyno is great for WOT runs but lacks the load capability for tuning. Load is the equivalent of weight of the vehicle, resistance from wind etc... which change all the variables when tuning. Dyno technology has come quite far in the past few years but the upgrade was double the cost of our last dyno, but we feel it is definitely worth the price. The other advantage is the ability to run WOT just like the traditional dynojet. Very few people have "this" dyno and if a shop has had their dyno more than 2 years, more than likely it's the traditional dynojet.

Please feel free to stop by.

Thanks,

How much for 3 pulls? Do you use a wideband? I wanted to dyno at Mazdafest, but didn't get a chance to.

Although we are mainly a MFG. / Prototyping company, we do allow any of our Techs. to do installations and custom fabrication.
Our hourly rat is 85.00 which is pretty standard if not more reasonable than most shops.

Yes, we have a wideband.
Our rate is 100.00 per hour for baseline.

Thanks,

If I arrange a mazda meet there, what kind of discount can you give?

Our normal rate is 125.00 per hour. For any community that we have parts for the rate is 100.00 per hour.

We're considering a dyno day but our equipment was twice the cost of our last dyno due to the load feature. We like to keep our dyno in tip top shape for our R&D and tuners that rent it. However, we're alway glad to run anyone's car, just let us know in advance.

So that's $100-$125 per hour for however many cars show? Id like to drop by on a weekend to check out the set up.

Unless we have a scheduled meet, we are not open on weekends.
Yes, that is a per hour charge.
However, the set up will take about 1/2 hour minium each car and even that varies depending on the vehicle.

Too bad you're closed on weekends unless otherwise noted. If you could show me your facilities on a Sat, I might consider trying to organize a meet there. I know some guys on MOCC are interested in a dyno day.

Do you know of any shops in so cal with this type of dyno?

I'm one of the first to have this model dynojet.
Unfortunately, I don't know any other shops that have it.

Most people gauge their HP numbers by dynojet standards across the entire world. SoCal has more dynos per block than any other area literally. The problem is that the old dynojets are so large that they are difficult to transport and sell, so most shops won't be upgrading any time soon.

If you are tuning, your best bet would be to look for a dynapak which should be easy to find in your area.

We used to be in San Ramon and had dyno days quite often. However, our facitlity is somewhat temporary while our new building is being built in Livermore. This is one reason we prefer tuners and simple appts. at the moment.
