Hello, new Mazda owner here. I bought my '03 mazdaspeed protege to the shop a couple days ago and apparently I have a list of problems with a leaking turbo, cracked manifold, and other small parts. I saw on this forum that you guys recommend protegegarage.com, and I saw that they have several turbocharger options. One of them was between a GT28 and GT28RS "disco potato" turbo. I'm wondering what is the difference between these except that one requires flanges and the other seem to be a direct bolt on. Am I wrong to assume this? If I get the GT28RS what other parts would I need?
Also, how is the T3 and T3/T4 turbo compared to the GT28RS? It doesnt appear to use ball-bearing but how much does that affect the turbo's performance? Any help would be appreciated (help)
