Tuning for Mazda3 Turbo M3TH live

"JB4 adds functionality with a plug and play OBDII CANbus connection allowing the JB4 to take in critical engine data directly from the ECU." Since the M3TH OBD port is always on when you plug something to it, does this mean you have to pull it out every time you turn off your engine to prevent battery drain?

I've had the JB4 box connected to my OBD port continuously now for 3 weeks, and have not noticed a single low-battery warning. My opinion; this worry is a non-point.
