Trip to Toronto

I'll be going on my 1st trip to Toronto Canada this coming weekend. Was wondering if my new P5 will be in 'danger' (car thefts etc)? How safe is it? (sorry for being paranoid :))

Or should I just rent a car?

And where are the good places to go? I know i'll be stopping by the falls and I'll be staying near Markham.

Thanks!

As an outsider who has been to Toronto many times I can say that it's not really any worse than any other city when it comes to crime and stuff. I lived in the downtown area for about 3 months and never had anybody mess with my MP3 while I was there.

I've been to the Markham area before and my understanding is that it's a really nice area of town to be sure.

As far as amusement, in the immediate area of Markham you can check out the Pacific Mall which is on Steeles Avenue...it's a fun mall that is heavily slanted to the asian population I'd have to say. There are a few aftermarket car stores, places to buy funky clothes, lots of electronics places, tons of food and a cool arcade(try out some Dance Dance Revolution there)

For a little more adult entertainment(ok a lot more) check out Whiskey a Go Go....can't remember the address, but if you are in Markham, it's close. It's the best strip club in the Toronto area I'd say.

Maybe if you said what sorta things you were wanting to do it'd be better. I know that Canada's Wonderland amusement park(also nearish to Markham) should also be open now too so that'd be a ton of fun.

Damn, I'll be in Toronto on Sunday... oh well...

Anyway, thank you Big Blue. i'm gonna get my tires checked and go for an oil change! Zumin up to Toronto! :)

I'm really on a tight schedule, so I'll be staying in Toronto for 2 nights only. I think I'll drop by the Pacific Mall and check out the stuff there. Probably go for some good chinese food :)

Any other well known places I should go? At least if I have a conversation with stranger from Toronto, I have something to talk about :)

It's weird I was just posting in another thread about diecast metal miniature cars. Pacific Mall I know has a few stores that just sells those and also Gundam robots and stuff like that. If you do happen to run across a Mazda MP3 model, seriously pick it up and I'll pay you for it without question.

I know when I was there I went to the zoo...yup the actual zoo as I'm a big animal lover and it's a beautiful one in my opinion.

If you are into the bar scene and looking for bars, there's a bunch all within walking distance if you can make it downtown right around the corner of Queen and John I believe are the cross streets.

Toronto is a really happening city so if you will be staying at a hotel, then talk to the concierce at the front and ask for any suggestions as for entertainment. Have a blast on my behalf! :)

Hey there,

I live in To... about 5 min from Markham. As for Pac Mall it will be packed on saturday, alot of shopes are closed in the morning so go in the afternoon.

Other places to go. Well depends what you want to do. I mean go up the CN tower, check out the Leafs lose... LOL or the jays lose.. which ever you hate more... I have lived in To for 4 years now so it's all boring to me... if you want to check out some runs let me know and I can tell you where to meet up to see some stuff go down. There is a guy there with a 13 sec N/A GSR ( no juice either) with a stock block and R coupond tires... it's nice to see and hear him run, usually my friend with hi SVT Cobra goes there too.

Jc
