To WeatherTech or Not To WeatherTech?

Ive had a few ppl recommend getting weather tech floor liners in preparation for the winters up here in Canada. The salt/snow/ice has always made my previous car interior white (especially the pedals area). People are saying weather tech is good, but that stuff is pricey. Do you guys think its worth it? or do you know any other brands that work just as well but for cheaper?

ps. i also looked at Floor liners vs. floor mats from weathertech. Liners were much deepers and provided more protection?

What are your thoughts?

I got this style:

I prefer the look to WeatherTech and find them easier to clean. Plus, they don't have that heavy rubber smell. Fit perfectly, leaves access to the gas fill release and has a single piece for the rear.

I have the weathertech too front and rear + hatch area. The weathertech was well worth the money spent especially for the rear hatch. Nothing gets by it and they're easy to clean.

Kefun, did you considered maxspider? Partsengine.ca sells them. Good quality and cheaper than weathertech.

i do like the digital fit for WT

joemon1984, hows the fit on the maxspider? and are there ridges? from the website it looks like a well that can pool water and may splash if u accidentally step on it lol

The maxspider are exactly like the Airies I posted a picture of upthread. That product gets sold under several different names. I guess if you poured water into then you would have standing water, but seems like a better option than having the water move around in the vehicle.

The fit is excellent. Literally couldn't be better, looks totally OEM but pops out for hosing off (which is easier to do since it doesn't have the heavy ridging of the WeatherTech). Seems to dry faster than the WeatherTech as well. I haven't had them long enough to say anything useful about how they wear, but so far so good (approx 2500 miles).

In Canada you can buy the floor liners from the dealer with the CX-5 branding and they are made by Weathertech...their label is underneath. Paid $200 for front and back, not much more than the generic Weathertech but these have the CX-5 branding made specifically for Mazda.

I have the Weathertech front and rear floor liners. They were easy to install, clean, and there is a raised edge to contain spills. The set cost around $200 from Amazon. I think it was worth it.

Weather Tech front and rear seating area, OEM rear cargo tray for me. $75 for WT off Craigslist, OEM tray off eBay.

Unfortunately I went with the Mazda mats that don't cover the dead pedal area. I did get Weather Tech for the wife's Honda and they are very impressive.

I got the MaxSpider Mat, got it when I was on sale for $144 all in. The fit is excellent. I did pour some water on it and it would need to have a lot of water to splash.

weather tech liners

I got the liners. I have the oem weather mats for sale $59 plus shipping.

I have weathertechs, the fronts have holes that allow the mats to attach to the floor, they also do allow snow melt to find its way to the underlying carpet. My drive way is uphill so the water will pool to the rear, back by the holes.
Do the Aries have the same attachment points? If they do not, I would go with those.

Just installed Maxpider mats, they fit great.

they look awesome. would you mind taking some pics without the flash? what is the actual texture like? It looks hard/slippery, but it's tough to tell.

Texture is soft and somewhat rubbery. They're very light, but feel like they will last, looks well made. They blend in very well with the interior, front and back. Will post a picture of the back as well, stay tuned.

I just ordered a front set of 3D's from amazon. They looks so much nicer looking than the Weathertech Floorliners. At least in the pics, anyway.I'll find out in a couple of days..
