Tire recommendations for the CX-90 PHEV?

:
2024 CX90 PHEV Premium Plus
I suppose this can apply to all CX-90s, but I think only the PHEV models come with the craptastic Falkens.

What your experience been with the tire so far? Has anyone replaced them? Experience with new tires of any brand?

I’m closing in on 10,000 miles and getting pretty close to the wear bars already. Performance in the rain is a bit skittish now.

I had a set of Pirelli Scorpions on my CX9 which were AWESOME! They performed well on dry roads, had great steering feel, were extremely capable on wet highways, were quiet, and comfortable. A really, really good all-around tire.

The closest thing I can find for the CX 90 is the Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive. Tire Rack reviews rate them very high (9 and 8+ in the various categories). They’re reasonably priced at less than $400 each. Good tire wear rating at 700, also.

Has anyone replaced the tires on their CX90 yet? At 14,000 my tires are pretty much at the wear bars. 👎 I researched tires again and came back to the Pirelli Weatheractive again. Hopefully these will last until my lease is up.

I was debating another set of the Falkens just to get thru my lease since they’re so much cheaper, but I’d probably have to get another set in 15,000 miles. (Their wear rating is a dismal 300.). I suspect the weight of the car accelerating the wear, too.

No experience with the CX90. Own a CX5 Signature and could not be happier with Michelin Cross Climate2 from Costco. Ride and handling and noise have improved so much. Take a look at them for your car.
